I swear the ESPNY commentators Spent the last 10 minutes laughing about fantasy baseball, and they are doing it agin, WTF!
According to the AP…
New York Yankees general manager Brian Cashman says that matter of Alex Rodriguez being picked up from his spring training opener by his cousin “has been handled.”
In other words, Yuri Sucart sleeps with the fishes.
7-2 top 7th
ESPN’rs are bored with the game. This is a dull one.
DOB’s been gone a while. Wonder where he’s at? Hopefully for you guys just grabbing another sausage hero.
Bill in VA
DOB Can you get to the ESPN crew to limit the stories and the raucous laughter so they have time to tell us who’s at bat and who just got a hit???
Boone logan on to pitch
February 26th, 20093:00 pm
Im glad I can just watch the game at work without sound, it makes it that much better. This group of clowns might be worse than Morgan and Miller.
I bet DOB’s following up on Hanson and Gonzo
Anders, Sure he is checking on Gonzo
February 26th, 20093:01 pm
grounder to 2nd 1 out
ESPNY Sucks, Us Braves Fans will call the shots now, Since ESPNY Is on their Yankees Rant Now…
ok…. there are people sitting in MY seats and I didn’t sell my tickets to anyone…. someone get an usher!
Braves Fan 88
How in the world did that kid not impress you???????? He throws 95-97 EFFORTLESSLY, and you could even see the look on the batters faces as he was blowing pitches by them. It’s his FIRST MAJOR LEAGUE SPRING TRAINING DEBUT, and you’re already trying to bash the guy……..ALL HE”S DONE IS DOMINATE EVERYWHERE HE”S BEEN!!!!
Anyone that couldn’t see how special kid is ought to just keep it to themselves, because all you are doing is making yourself look stupid by saying otherwise!
There was a reason why the Braves wouldn’t trade this kid anywhere, for anyone….including Peavy!
Why in the world would any Braves fan be poo-poo’n Hanson’s outing today is beyond me!! The kid looked legit….and to even compare him with Chuck James, Charlie Morton, or Jo-Jo is a complete joke……..he’s in a whole other league!
But I guess like the saying goes, opinions are like a-holes…..errrybody has one!!
February 26th, 20093:02 pm
Logan looks solid, so far
February 26th, 20093:03 pm
fly to right Logan throwing 89-90
Hey if TBS didn’t fall asleep at the wheel 20 years ago they would be the national sports network and you guys would be in the drivers seat. No one to blame but yourselves.
February 26th, 20093:04 pm
Aight, I had to put the TV on Mute soon as Peter Gammons started his rant on the Yankees, I lost respect for the dude 3 years ago
1-2-3 inning nothing overpowering but solid
[i]In other words, Yuri Sucart sleeps with the fishes.[i/]
Ha, Ha! Yuri, say hello to Luca Brasi and Sal Bonpensiero for me.
February 26th, 20093:05 pm
Appreciate the play by play bf bravesfan- Thanks!
February 26th, 20093:06 pm
Damn you, Ravech.
What will the reaction be like if A-Rod hits 50 homers a year for the next ten years?
It’ll be that the guy must have found the greatest PED of all-time.
What a moronic question. I hate you, Ravech. Please die.
nice job BoooooooooNIE!
Ohman could be missed jmo
February 26th, 20093:07 pm
Gammons has been dead for years. That’s an ESPN robot they run out there. What did you think that whole stroke thing was? they were working out the kinks.

dogsbrekky, oh, Hanson has weakness? Ah, I see, well you know that’s the first I’ve heard of it. Until today he was No.1 starter type quality. I’m sorry, but vesta is right(not about boiled peanuts), excepts for the hits and walks and earned runs, he was great. I’m still trying hard to see what makes this kid different than the other prospects that may not have had the same claims, but they were well thought of. The idea that Davies and Chen and Moss, and Ramirez, Reyes, James, Morton, etc… were not all highly regarded is a bunch of crap. But I’ll be fair, it was his first time out, but what I don’t see if all these comments about how he was “ok” and how you can see “how good he’s going to be”, I’m sorry but someone is going to have to explain how they saw all that in today’s performance. In any case, this wasn’t worth paying special attention to.
February 26th, 20093:09 pm
JEFFY GOT A HIT!! ATTA BOY!
infante hits grounder to short and they boot it.
February 26th, 20093:10 pm
i love how for the last 2 innings they havent announced who’s batting…instead talking about arod, isnt that what baseball tonight is for? I’ll be tuning to MLB network during the season for my daily dose of baseball news.
Geez, this ESPN crew is awful- my ears hurt from all the non-stop chatter…..
Yeah, Jeffy got a hit, one that he pulled to left field and one the first pitch. Still not showing any patience and going the other way.
February 26th, 20093:11 pm
Who was it that just walked?
Gammons should shut up about A-Rod right now! He had his chance and fumbled it badly. Just shut up!!!!
What? Like the whole “Paul is dead” thing, complete with the lookalike contest winner who was never heard from again, the clues in the lyrics from “Lovely Rita” and “I Am the Walrus” and on the cover of “Sgt. Pepper’s”, right down to the convertible with the blood red interior and the open palm over Paul, not to mention the barefoot Paul walking across the street on the cover of “Abbey Road”?
b jones hits bases loaded single to left 7-3
Gammons should shut up about A-Rod. A-Rod played Gammons like he played his wife and the fans. If Gammo can’t figure that, he’s a fool.
Steve from OH
That as Mississippi catcher JC Boscan that just walked (I thought I would pick up ESPN’s slack now that Phillips and Kruk’s minds are totally elsewhere).
February 26th, 20093:12 pm
nobody out still loaded
No physical problems with Gonzalez, who said he was on a pitch limit. He threw 21 pitches.
Said his elbow feels great, no pain or soreness at all, for first time since before his surgery. Said he had some discomfort pretty much every time out last season, that this is first time it’s been this good in a long time.
As for his velocity, he insisted that throughout his career, he’s always thrown 86-88 mph until the last week or so of spring training, “when the lights come on.” Said that’s just the way he’s done it, and that it’s been successful.
interested observer – jd boscan walked
February 26th, 20093:13 pm
valid point but i’d rather see him get his confidence up…thats whats most important right now
Chop Chop – Great minds think alike. What do you think happened to us?
Nice off-field swing by B. Jones to drive in a run.
I don’t mind the ESPN guys going off-topic in a February minor league game; I’m sure most of the audience couldn’t care less about the Great Josh Anderson-Gregor Blanco Debate.
But their endless denial about A-Rod is just laughable. Especially Gammons, who was made a total shill in ‘the interview.’ He still can’t quite bring himself to believe that A-Rod lied to him.
i cant take it anymore
“Hey if TBS didn’t fall asleep at the wheel 20 years ago they would be the national sports network and you guys would be in the drivers seat. No one to blame but yourselves”. -ANDERS
you guys? you mean…me? I don’t really know much about running a TV station…but if you insist.
After all, you do have a lot of credentials and responsibility.
Pretty impressive stuff by Hanson. Those were 2 nasty strikeouts.
February 26th, 20093:14 pm
Thanks Steve. It helps when they get to 2nd base and you can see the names on the uniform. Someone needs to tell Ravech that Escobar’s been out of the game for several innings now.
Thank god about gonzo.
diaz hits single 7-4 bases loaded 0 out
Cool. Now we’re talking medical ethics/informed consent. Awesome.
February 26th, 20093:15 pm
Diaz hits a seeing-eye single through left side with bases loaded, drives in a run to cut it to 7-4 deficit in eighth with none out.
The ESPN guys are talking and talking and talking… about A-Rod scandel? What a surprise!
Gammons: “one of the most important things is to stop talking about the past.” Hey, I’m having visions of Mark McGwire before Congress!

do these guys realize that the Braves are playing Houston and the Yankees and AROD are not in the stadium? do they even know who is batting?
hitnskisn (3:01 pm) has GOT to be KC’s soul mate (though somewhat less hysterically defensive about the Braves than is KC).
whew!! about gonzo
I have no problem with them going off topic either, but it would be nice for them to give a little bit more info on the game, like who is up…hell they could even put a graphic or something when they first step in the box
There We Go G!!! Nice….
blanco hits single to left 7-5 bases still loaded o out
“Gammons: “one of the most important things is to stop talking about the past.” Hey, I’m having visions of Mark McGwire before Congress!”
Gammons is actually completely correct in saying we need to stop discussing the past, we need to talk about testing now. We need to talk about testing in the future, and we need to talk about what negotiations are going to go into the collective bargaining agreement.
We don’t need to talk about 2001-2003 anymore.
Blanco follows with an RBI single to left, now 7-5, lead dwindling.
I see that Santana was scratched from scheduled start with elbow tenderness.
wow they are actually talking about the game….oh well cooper is out back to arod….
February 26th, 20093:18 pm
Can you please pass Kruk a chili dog or something? Anything to stop the hot air.
is Heyward going to play today
The bats are heating up…
Chop chop- I was talking about our thoughts on Gammons. It was a self depricating staement as well. Sorry if you took it personally – not my intent.
I agree with you guys. This announce crew is terrible! oh and A – Roid IS a cheater!!
February 26th, 20093:19 pm
ANders – uh oh. Is Santana hurt? ha ha ha!!! It’s only spring training.
Forgot to mention, Bobby said before game that he thinks Manny Acosta (Panama) has pulled out of WBC.
hitnskisn , there are lots of guys who could/can throw 95-97, so what? The guy didn’t do anything special today. It does the kid no favors to act as if he went out and distinguished himself today.I’m not saying he wont ever, but to try and say he was fantastic or looked “special” is wrong.
Dont take that pitcher out
February 26th, 20093:20 pm
I hope its nothing major with Johan, I dont want Anders to commit seppuku.
DOB maybe u can let these guys know there is a baseball game going on?
conrad hits into dp 7-5
Dont pressure yourself JF, you might get a hit before september is gone.
February 26th, 20093:21 pm
I’m not worried about Gonzo not hitting 91-92 on Feb. 26.
But if it’s like that on March 26, then I’m worried. A lot.
7-6 my bad
Bravos just scored their 6th run and stupid ravech says it is a 7-5 game. These guys are not even remotely watching this game!!
February 26th, 20093:22 pm
Seems like Diaz gets a ton of those kind of hits…With that swing I don’t see how he hits anything. But he does, he just hits.
2B Brooks Conrad (non-roster) invitee grounded into DP, brings in another run, ‘Stros lead down to 7-6.
prado flys to cf 7-6 top 8
Damn ESPNY, Bring In Skip Bayless to Address the A-Fraud Issue. At least he will not make up excuses…
Is the word “Conrad” Russian for “Francoeur?” Anybody?
February 26th, 20093:23 pm
this guy comes in and throws like 5 pitches and gets 3 outs
February 26th, 20093:24 pm
I didn’t take it personally, Anders. That’s what the burp was for. Just didn’t want to type “Ha” this time. I guess I could use the to indicate that I’m just funnin’.
February 26th, 20093:25 pm
Anders, you must like the commenting from the ESPN guys because they talked good about how the Mutts. Looks like they’re predicting them to run away with the NL east. Only negative are the famous Sep. collapses, but they still like them, especially Steve Phillips. The Braves obviously had their time in the sun for years for them to predict them anything other than 3rd place finishers this year…whatever!
February 26th, 20093:26 pm
nice stop, Conrad!!
February 26th, 20093:27 pm
conrad makes a nice play up the middle following infante’s parr gets em 1-2-3
So what’s Brooks Conrad’s last name.
February 26th, 20093:28 pm
Santana says he’ll be fine…
Nice inning by Parr
Brooks Conrad Joe is his full name.
Aight, Question for the commercial break: What At-Bat Music will G. Anderson use…? For me gotta go with old Mystiakl “Here I Go” that Sheffield use to use…Or Cam’ron’s “Oh Boy”…
