New York Yankees general manager Brian Cashman says that matter of Alex Rodriguez being picked up from his spring training opener by his cousin “has been handled.”
In other words, Yuri Sucart sleeps with the fishes.
How in the world did that kid not impress you???????? He throws 95-97 EFFORTLESSLY, and you could even see the look on the batters faces as he was blowing pitches by them. It’s his FIRST MAJOR LEAGUE SPRING TRAINING DEBUT, and you’re already trying to bash the guy……..ALL HE”S DONE IS DOMINATE EVERYWHERE HE”S BEEN!!!!
Anyone that couldn’t see how special kid is ought to just keep it to themselves, because all you are doing is making yourself look stupid by saying otherwise!
There was a reason why the Braves wouldn’t trade this kid anywhere, for anyone….including Peavy!
Why in the world would any Braves fan be poo-poo’n Hanson’s outing today is beyond me!! The kid looked legit….and to even compare him with Chuck James, Charlie Morton, or Jo-Jo is a complete joke……..he’s in a whole other league!
But I guess like the saying goes, opinions are like a-holes…..errrybody has one!!
Hey if TBS didn’t fall asleep at the wheel 20 years ago they would be the national sports network and you guys would be in the drivers seat. No one to blame but yourselves.
Gammons has been dead for years. That’s an ESPN robot they run out there. What did you think that whole stroke thing was? they were working out the kinks.
dogsbrekky, oh, Hanson has weakness? Ah, I see, well you know that’s the first I’ve heard of it. Until today he was No.1 starter type quality. I’m sorry, but vesta is right(not about boiled peanuts), excepts for the hits and walks and earned runs, he was great. I’m still trying hard to see what makes this kid different than the other prospects that may not have had the same claims, but they were well thought of. The idea that Davies and Chen and Moss, and Ramirez, Reyes, James, Morton, etc… were not all highly regarded is a bunch of crap. But I’ll be fair, it was his first time out, but what I don’t see if all these comments about how he was “ok” and how you can see “how good he’s going to be”, I’m sorry but someone is going to have to explain how they saw all that in today’s performance. In any case, this wasn’t worth paying special attention to.
i love how for the last 2 innings they havent announced who’s batting…instead talking about arod, isnt that what baseball tonight is for? I’ll be tuning to MLB network during the season for my daily dose of baseball news.
What? Like the whole “Paul is dead” thing, complete with the lookalike contest winner who was never heard from again, the clues in the lyrics from “Lovely Rita” and “I Am the Walrus” and on the cover of “Sgt. Pepper’s”, right down to the convertible with the blood red interior and the open palm over Paul, not to mention the barefoot Paul walking across the street on the cover of “Abbey Road”?
That as Mississippi catcher JC Boscan that just walked (I thought I would pick up ESPN’s slack now that Phillips and Kruk’s minds are totally elsewhere).
No physical problems with Gonzalez, who said he was on a pitch limit. He threw 21 pitches.
Said his elbow feels great, no pain or soreness at all, for first time since before his surgery. Said he had some discomfort pretty much every time out last season, that this is first time it’s been this good in a long time.
As for his velocity, he insisted that throughout his career, he’s always thrown 86-88 mph until the last week or so of spring training, “when the lights come on.” Said that’s just the way he’s done it, and that it’s been successful.
Nice off-field swing by B. Jones to drive in a run.
I don’t mind the ESPN guys going off-topic in a February minor league game; I’m sure most of the audience couldn’t care less about the Great Josh Anderson-Gregor Blanco Debate.
But their endless denial about A-Rod is just laughable. Especially Gammons, who was made a total shill in ‘the interview.’ He still can’t quite bring himself to believe that A-Rod lied to him.
