I think Hanson is next?!
I’m gonna tell the boss i’m sick. I cant take this anymore.
I think we’re going to see a better 1st baseman in Kotchman than we saw in Tex. He seems to have a little more range. Tex was the best at digging out bad throws, and I haven’t seen enough of Kotchman on that, but I’m sure he’s as good.
Campillo is done… Bring on Tommy!
February 26th, 20091:36 pm
kotch gets jammed grounder to 2nd
February 26th, 20091:37 pm
man, I hope Tommy throws and sparkles and glitter fly off the ball, because we(and I mean me too) are all hyped to the nth degree
6 weeks ago – I would have never thought I’d see Escobar in our uniform
Esco hit by pitch
escobar gets blasted for flippin the bat!!!!!
Awwwah! S…T we got a stare from ESCO, Nice…
esco gets hit in arm
February 26th, 20091:38 pm
Oswalt did that on purpose. Escobar hasn’t made many friends in baseball, it seems. Maybe he didn’t do it purpose, I don’t know.
Frenchie, Looked just like so many times from last year, WTF? T.P.
Maybe if we saw flames behind the ball he would live up to our expectations.
typical jeff at bat on pitch ground out to third
sparkles and glitter, what is this fairy tale?
First pitch Francoeur
Francoeur grounded out 5-3 on first pitch with a runner at first and one out.
Now Escobar (who reached via a hit-by-pitch off his elbow guard) is at second base with Ross up.
Daniel – Do you mean as opposed to never having been part of the economy at all?
February 26th, 20091:39 pm
frenchy grounder to 3rd esco at 2nd
Way to see a few Frenchy
I like the Ross signing
Really like it
February 26th, 20091:40 pm
Big D Ross haha
HOMERUN DAVE ROSS!!
Good thing you got baserunning practice this morning. Won’t get much this afternoon.
GONE Ross hits bomb 3-2
DWW it will have to be flames that also stimulates the economy, cures cancer and feeds the hungry
Nice David Ross, He’s 3 Times the caliber player Dorky Miller was…Nice!!
Ross HOMERS off Oswalt on 2-1 pitch, onto the grass berm beyond left field. Braves close deficit to 3-2.
David Ross – When he makes contact, he’s no Corky Miller.
Apparently all that baserunning practice this morning was to no avail?
a twig is better than Corky Miller
braves fan 16
Take that Walty boy. Ross’s got some pop, for sure.
February 26th, 20091:41 pm
don’t get that one Anders, keep trying though
Lets not have our backup Catcher waste those HR’s in spring training!
Franceour’s stance looks exactly the same to me.
Dorky Miller… Nice
Nice interview with DRoss on 680 this morning… College teammate of Huddy at Allbarn.
February 26th, 20091:42 pm
Hanson still warming in pen looks 8ft tall throwing 130 or so
Anders, Frenchy looked real good running out that groundout. Good thing they practiced.
Someone Called Him, “BIG D Ross” I like that nickname…I’ll have to start applying that…
Bring on T-Hawk!!!
Here comes the future. No pressure kid.
February 26th, 20091:43 pm
Thank god Corky is gone….
Bring on TOMMY HANSON
Hanson introduced, had a quick chat with Dave Ross, now taking his warmup tosses….
Final line for Campillo: 2 innings, 5 hits, 3 runs (earned), 2 walks, 1 strikeout, 44 pitches /25 strikes
I bet tommy gun strikes out the side on 3 pitches.
February 26th, 20091:44 pm
DWW- he better, and he should catch as well
I have a question, if the braves are really highly excited about these new “baby braves” how come we are not bringing them all up from the minors this year? Why does hanson have to go back to AAA? or Shafer to AA? We see to be all high and mighty on these new players YET we keep them in the minors?
Daniel – OK I’ll post slower. You likened the Mets September swoon to the recession. So I likened the Braves not being in the pennant race last year to not being in the economy. Now do you get it?
February 26th, 20091:45 pm
hanson 1st pitch 96 for a strike
Can someone tell me how Hanson looks? I’m at work
Hanson throws a 96-mph fastball for his first pitch, called strike against Carlos Lee.
Then a 95-mph fastball for ball 1
And another 95-mph fastball for ball 2
Lee checked swing on another fastball, Braves wanted a strike….
Walks him on five pitches.
Hanson Getting squeezed, against El Cubaillo (C. Lee)
That’s not CORKY MILLER!!!!! So BRAVES fans. are we pleased with the new BUC? I sure am. Noticed it was one of the BRAVES’ first moves in the off-season too. Glad FW was listening to my advice.
5 pitch walk for Hanson.
February 26th, 20091:46 pm
I get it… just not that funny
“Smoltz like slider”
NICE Beanball to Tejada…Ha ha
A little nervous. Calm down young man
hit batter, send his ass to Gwinnett now. J/K of course.
February 26th, 20091:47 pm
Walks the first guy – hit’s the second. On purpose? Hmm….
T-Hawk ain’t playin that S….t! LOL
geez 96 96 96 96 96 96 96 96
nice start to the joke though, bad finish…
oh, that’s right, you are a Mets fan
You drill our shortstop, we’ll drill yours. Hanson just earned some friends in the clubhouse.
February 26th, 20091:48 pm
At least Hanson has more guts than Boyer. Taking up for Escobar there. Man, the ball really does jump out of his hands.
hit batsman and a walk, let’s see if he can pitch out of it.
Hits Miguel Tejada in left hip/butt with a 95-mph fastball on 1-0 pitch
Two on, none out, David Newhan up
Gets ahead 0-2 against him with two fastballs, second one fouled back (all fastballs so far in the inning, and now Ross is out to chat real quickly, then jogs back)
Another fastball for ball 1 (10 straight fastballs to start things now)
Daniel that was a good one lol
DWW- no flames or the sound of angels yet either. man the kid is a bust
WOW at the slider for a backwards k
WOW hanson’s yacker..ewwwwwwwwwwwww
What a pitch for strike 3
Nasty Slider, Filthy, good to see him doing that in a Jam!
Did Hanson hit Tejada on purpose? Sure looked like it.
February 26th, 20091:49 pm
hey is he a flyball/groundball kind of pitcher jw?
Hanson strikes him out looking at a big 79-mph curveball, first non-fastball in 11th pitch
I think he beaned tejada in response to Escobar being beaned. Good!!!!
he seems a lil jacked up eh?
OMG, ok, nevermind about Oswalt throwing 94 when Hanson is throwing 96, lol.. LOVE THIS KID!!!!
THIS GUY SUCKS! LOL
DOB, why will the braves keep all the good rookies in the minors? COuld they bring them all up?
John Gall hits a 1-0 fastball to RF corner to drive in run and put runners on corners with one out
WOW. I validate every comment you have made about Hanson. The ESPN guys are raving about him just as much as I am admiring his stuff. I cannot wait for him to break into the bigs. Im sitting here waiting for next class and I am just amazed.
At least we know Hanson has more guts than Boyer. Taking up for Escobar there. Man, the ball really does jump out of his hand. Gives up a run, but no biggie.
February 26th, 20091:50 pm
Give Credit to the Hitter for that AB….He hit it where it was pitched, Frenchie Are you taking lessons…?
Tejada will have some baseball seams on his back. You know it hit you hard when you can count the stitches.
February 26th, 20091:51 pm
Chris Johnson sac fly to CF for 5-2 lead. with two outs
wow, Hanson’s curve and slider have some NASTY movement on them
February 26th, 20091:52 pm
Gets ahead of Humberto Quintero with first-place slider for strike looking.
Then a 95 mph fastball for ball 1
Have folks noticed all the empty seats? In past years, the place was packed at these opening spring games. Good for Hanson on popping Tejada!!!
February 26th, 20091:53 pm
Kid sure has good stuff. Seems to be a lot of late arm and shoulder whip though. Not a lot of drive from the lower body for a big guy.
That slider is special.
