ABH Weekend deals: SEC specials, Target-Neiman launch and free holiday events

It promises to be an action packed weekend with the SEC Championship game in town, a new Target collaboration being launched and lots of events to kick off the holidays.

SEC deals/discounts

I posted some SEC related deals yesterday. Here are a few more

CinéBistro: The Town Brookhaven location will broadcast the SEC Championship game on Saturday. Tickets are free but must be reserved at the concierge desk beginning at 2:30 p.m. There will be food and drink specials for guests 21 and older. Limit of two tickets per person.

Cowlicks: Cowlicks Yogurt & Floats in Vinings will give you $1 off your order if you say “SEC” at the register. Not valid with any other offer.

Shula’s 347 Grill: View the game and enjoy $5 appetizers from the weekday Happy Hour menu and $5 bites including Crispy Ravioli, Spinach-Artichoke Dip, Boneless Buffalo Wings, Shula’s Signature Cheeseburger and Chicken Sandwich.

Neiman Marcus/Target

The much anticipated Target/ Neiman Marcus holiday collection debuts Saturday featuring more than 50 gifts by 24 CFDA designers. Gifts including everything from clothing and accessories to a bicycle and luggage are available at prices ranging from $8 to $500.

A warning: Any purchases from the collection must be returned to Target by January 5th, 2013 and purchase quantity is limited to five per same item. The items are available online at Target.com and NeimanMarcus.com as well as all Target and Neiman Marcus stores.

Shopping tip: Head to Neiman Marcus where the shopping experience will hopefully be a bit more civilized. You’ll pay the same price, but probably won’t have to throw your ‘bows. Neiman’s will open at 8 a.m. for the launch.

Free events to get in the holiday spirit:

The City of Alpharetta annual tree lighting is scheduled for TONIGHT at 6 p.m. (this is a new date ). Festivities including food trucks, music and more begin at 5 p.m. Visitors are invited to socialize and shop the local stores when the festivities wind down.

The 86th Annual Morehouse/Spelman Christmas Carol Concert kicks off the first of three performances tonight at 7:30 p.m. Additional performances are 7:30 p.m, Sat. and 6 p.m., Sun. All concerts are free and open to the public, but for the Saturday performance, a ticket is required. See the website for additional details or call the Spelman Department of Music at 404-270-5476.

Home Depot: The Midtown store is hosting a free social media photo booth event 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., Sat. and Sun. Stop by the booth after shopping and snap a quick photo to show off your Christmas tree, holiday lights or everyday DIY purchase. The photo booth lets you upload holiday photos to Facebook, Twitter or email and text the photo to friends and family instantly.

If I were interested in any of the items on the Target/Neiman deal I think I would go to the Target 10 minutes from my house with plenty of parking rather than going to some mall which is at best an hour away, try to find a parking place and then walk forever to get to the store. There is nothing civilized about going to any mall this time of year.
