Macy’s: My favorite cue that the holiday shopping season is in full swing is the lighting of the tree at Macy’s Lenox Square. This year marks the 65th annual event, set to take place at 6:15 p.m. Nov. 22 (Thanksgiving) with performances by Trace Adkins, a fireworks finale and more. This free event also serves as a reminder to start creating your shopping lists; Macys.com has already compiled its holiday gift guide. Ideas are discounted and priced under $25, $50 and $100, as well as the “Top 10 Gifts” such as a Keurig coffee maker for $180 (regularly $260). Deals subject to change. Shop online or make your own list by visiting Macys.com.
Entertainment.com: An Entertainment.com savings membership gets you savings online and from your phone. Find BOGO deals and discounts up to 50 percent off, plus new features to save you time and money. I used the “Deals Near Me” feature and grabbed $15 off of a $75 purchase at The Gap. Save $5 on membership (regularly $35) through November.
High Hampton Inn: The Thanksgiving House Party has become the North Carolina country club’s most popular event. Every day there is a variety of activities for parents and kids and for a limited time all of the activities are included in the room price, which starts at $400 per night for two guests during the holiday. This includes events and fees for golf, tennis, boating and children’s activities.
