Election Day 2012 deals

Exercise your right to vote on Tues., Nov. 6, then exercise your right to save money on a few deals made just for Election Day:

Zipcar: In an effort to help members get out and vote, the car sharing network, Zipcar, Inc., is offering a 50 percent discount on hourly rates between 5 a.m. – 9 p.m EST on Election Day.  Visit  Zipcar.com to learn more about the “Zip to the Polls” discount and make a reservation. Zipcar rates include gas, 180 miles of travel per day, insurance, reserved parking spots and roadside assistance.

The High Museum of Art: Election Day is “Pay as You Wish Day” at the High.  Cast your vote, then bring your family to the High Museum of Art. Anyone who visits on Election Day, between 10 a.m.  – 5 p.m., can name their own price for admission.

Jet Blue Airlines: JetBlue is promising a free round-trip plane ticket to 1,006 international travelers next year if their candidate doesn’t win in the presidential election. Go to www.jetblueelectionprotection.com by 11:59 p.m. today (Nov. 5) to cast your vote for a chance to win.

imagesLegal Sea Foods – Today (Nov. 5) is the last day to enjoy the Blue or Red Plate Special at Legal Sea Foods. I wouldn’t call this a deal, but it sounds yummy. For $26, get the Blue Plate — macadamia-coconut crusted mahi-mahi with roasted Brussels sprouts in a lime butter sauce or the Red Plate (pictured) — pan-seared cod with steamed spaghetti squash in bourbon lobster cream sauce.

In the 2008 elections, Zaxby’s had a free meal if you wore your “I Voted” button. Too bad that is not in place this year!
