Dress it up
Rent the Runway: It’s time to give that little black (boring) dress a vacation. This site allows you to rent designer dresses at a fraction of the cost. They send you a back-up size and return envelope, making it so easy. Save 20 percent on your first-time rental with code “BETTERMORNINGS20” through Friday.
Options when buying for babies, toddlers, kids
Kushies: Kushies makes fantastic things and offers one-stop shopping on its site for baby and toddler items. Find organic layette, apparel, pajamas, cloth diapering and accessories, award-winning educational toys, baby basics, blankets, bedding, nursing, organic products, swimwear, training pants, bibs, bath toys and much more. Use discount code “jessicashops2012″ and take 10 percent off any item. Valid through the end of September.
Second Childhood Consignment Event: This is the season for consignment sales on kids’ items, with this event set for Sept. 13-16. This is one of the most highly selective and organized consignment sales I’ve found, and began more than 17 years ago. Inventory will feature fall and winter clothing and merchandise including toys, strollers and much more. Find deals such as a Britax car seat for $75-$90 (regularly $250) and infant clothing for $1-$3 a piece (regularly $10-$15). As items dwindle throughout that weekend, most will be marked down to 50 percent by that Sunday. (King’s Market Shopping Center, 1425 Market Blvd., Roswell)
Wet Brush: The last time I went to the salon I discovered something amazing: Wet Brush makes detangling wet hair quick and painless. The bristles are designed to allow for easy detangling of even the thickest, most stubborn hair (moms will be grateful, too). It’s about $15, not including shipping; use code “JessicaShops” and save 10 percent.
