One of the first things that coupon skeptics tell me is that there are never coupons available for items they buy. If you can identify with that, then get last Sunday’s grocery coupon circulars out of the recycling bin and take a second look.
Even if you aren’t out of these everyday items most people use, you should keep an eye out for high-value coupons to use when the items go on sale. If you time it right, you’ll get the item free and when an item is free, it may become a new item that you buy.
For example, in the May 20 SmartSource circular, you’ll find a buy one, get one free coupon for Schick disposable razors, value up to $10.50, which is a bargain at any price. You’ll also find a $2 Schick Intuition razor or refill coupon, which is a common sale item.
There also is a buy one, get one free coupon for Dannon Oikos Greek nonfat yogurt (5.3 ounce). Regularly priced at $1.39, Kroger has it on sale this week for $1 each. Use the coupon, and you’ll pay 50 cents
