Update: We have randomly selected a winner. Thanks to all who participated!
The race is on.
Organizers expect 60,000 people this July 4 at the 2012 AJC Peachtree Road Race. If you want to be among them but didn’t snag a number during this year’s lottery, listen up. We have a pair of AJC Peachtree Road Race numbers we’d love for you to have!
Entering to win them is easy: just leave a comment below. Feel free to share your running story, your training routine, or why you’d like to run the Peachtree this year. You must use your real email address (which doesn’t show up on the blog).
While you’re at it, check out the AJC Peachtree Road Race Facebook page and Twitter account. And don’t miss the AJC Peachtree Road Race page, with great training tips, results from past years and more.
The winner will be selected at random at 4 p.m. today, and we’ll notify the winner via email. You’ll then need to submit your registration information to the Atlanta Track Club by 5 p.m. Friday. We’ll send full details to the winner.
Good luck!

I would love to run this year’s Peachtree Road Race. I entered but was not selected in this year’s lottery. Nevertheless, I’ve still been running some early mornings and late afternoons (and hydrating accordingly!) just in case I luck up and get a race bib. Best wishes to all the runners!

My fiance and I both need to lose 10 pounds before the wedding, and running a 10K is more acceptable than giving up country fried steak.

I recently (over the last year or so) have lost 80 lbs. I’d love to celebrate this weight loss by doing the PRR! This would also be a great way to celebrate the 4th with my family who are already running!

It sure would be neat, to run down Peachtree street.
It requires a number, otherwise it is a bummer.
So here is my plea,to win a # for the Peachtree.

Lauren, what a cool blog and idea! I would love to win the number to run in the Peachtree. I’m an Atlanta native, but that’s one thing that has eluded me on my “bucket list”, so to speak. However, as I’m now in my 40s, my days of serious athletic accomplishments are starting to fade… I hope that just once I will be able to experience what it’s like to be in the PRR, and I’d love to take my wife along with me. Please choose my name — I can’t think of a more fun “Atlanta thing” than to say you’ve been a part of the Peachtree!
(Oh, and my wife’s birthday is that week — how cool would it be to surprise her with an entry into a fun activity that we can do together!)

I have a buddy that I just started helping get into running shape. He started running after his close friend had a stroke at age 37 and it was a real wake up call. He as been kicking around the idea of running a race this summer and I think getting these entries into the road race would be great motivation to keep him running.

Would love the challenge. Just moved to Atlanta and haven’t ran since college. I would have to train and today would be the perfect day to find out. Gives me a month to put in the work and be ready to run for the AJC!
But I see some very convincing and probably more deserving comments than mind… I understand. I would pick someone who has the commitment and is commenting more selflessly than I am.
