Good things come in smaller packages.
At least, that was the conclusion from this MSN Auto article about the 2011 top 10 cheapest cars to maintain. According to the article, “Labor costs and the cost of replacement parts for small cars are usually cheaper.”
Topping the list is the Honda Fit, with a total five-year service cost of $2,937, although the Toyota Corolla is right behind at $2,991.
But the more important question is, do maintenance costs actually factor into your decision to buy a new car? What about a used car?

What are the best buys right now? Yahoo Finance reports some of the deals during May and early June are obvious ones, while others you may not have thought about.
Mattresses
This is the best time to buy a mattress because people are not buying indoor stuff this time of year. Look for deals going into June. Consumer Reports recommends a regional chain called Original Mattress Factory. But I’m also partial to the warehouse clubs. If you’re going the warehouse club route, I suggest you pull a mattress off the rack and lay on it for 10 minutes or more — right there in the store — to make sure you like what you’re buying.
