Veggies, ibuprofen: Kroger has Birds Eye Steamfresh frozen vegetables (10-ounce to 12-ounce bags) on sale for $1. Use the coupon for $1 off three from the March 4 RedPlum circular to pay 67 cents per bag. Also, get Kroger Ibuprofen (500 count) for $5, only one cent per pill. Front-page hot deals include fresh asparagus at $1.99 per pound and split bone-in chicken breasts at 99 cents per pound.
Hershey’s, Cadbury, Russell Stover: Walgreens has single Easter candy items for 39 cents each, including Hershey’s, Nestle, Mars, Cadbury or Russell Stover (.9 to 1.5-ounce sizes). You can use the $1-off-two coupon for Mars Easter candies, any size, to get two free Mars varieties (such as Snickers or M&Ms). Limit 10. Rite Aid also has single serve Nestle Easter candy on sale “buy one, get one free,” so the $1-off-two coupon may make both items free. Check in store for specific Rite Aid prices.
Post cereal: Walgreens has selected Post cereals (11- to 24-ounce boxes) on sale for $1.99 each. Pay only 99 cents per box for Grape Nuts, Grape Nuts Flakes or Shredded Wheat by using the $1 coupon in the March 18 SmartSource circular, if these varieties are included in the sale.
Pepperidge Farm: Walgreens has Pepperidge Farm cookies (2.8 ounce) small packages on sale two for $2, or $1.29 each. Use two of the 50-cent coupon for Pepperidge Farm Distinctive cookies, any size, to pay 50 cents each when you buy two, or use one coupon to pay 79 cents for one. This is an example of how using a coupon on the smallest possible size can net you the lowest unit cost.
