Looking for a new smartphone? These retailers are vying for your business.
Through Feb. 14, you’ll receive a $50 Walmart gift card with the purchase of any smartphone under contract (excluding iPhones) at any Walmart. Some of the new smartphones available with a $50 gift card include:
AT&T
Verizon
T-Mobile
Sprint
Electronics giant Best Buy is also offering a gift card when you make a reservation by Sunday and purchase a phone by the end of the year.
Are you looking for a new cell phone? How much of an incentive is $50 when retailers like Radio Shack have been offering up cheap or free phones with a contract?

Given that Straight Talk will be introducing two “real” high-end phones soon, I would recommend waiting to see how those turn out.
It isn’t 100% for sure but most people are anticipating that the new ST Droid phones will use the T-Mobile network.
The cost should be the same $45/month for talk/text/web, no contract.
Something to think about.

Agreed. I would not lock myself into a contract right now.
I think that the “big 3″ cellphone carriers are starting to look like the big 3 automakers circa 1980. Lots of high quality, low price, no contract upstarts.
