Household items: CVS has a new promotion that gives you a $10 gift card to various retailers when you buy $30 of specially marked items. The gift card coupon will print on your receipt, and gift card selections may vary by store. Because you can combine coupons with sale prices on participating items, you can score big bargains. The pre-coupon price is the number to count toward the $30 goal. Items include Wisk 2X laundry detergent 26-32 loads on sale for $4.99. Use the $2 coupon from the Oct. 16 circular to pay $2.99, and count $4.99 toward your $30 spending goal. Kellogg’s Raisin Bran is on sale for $2. Use the Sept. 11 RedPlum coupon circular for $1 off two boxes to pay $1.50 per box, and the $2 pre-coupon sale price counts toward your $30 spending goal. Look for the green “Free Gift Card” tags in the CVS ad and on shelf tags and keep track of your spending. The Coupon Mom website also details qualifying items and matching coupons to help you plan.
Apples, chicken, pork: Kroger has Gala or Granny Smith apples on sale for $1 per pound, Tyson split chicken breast for 99 cents per pound and boneless pork loin for $1.99 per pound.
Cover Girl: Use the Cover Girl $8-off-two-items coupon from the Oct. 2 Procter & Gamble circular to get some free products if you can find items priced at $4 or less. My store had selected varieties of blush on sale for $3.35 each; check your store’s prices and get free or deeply-discounted beauty bargains.
Cereal, milk: Get a free gallon of milk at Kmart when you purchase four participating General Mills cereals (9- to 12.8-ounce boxes). The cereals are on sale for $2.50 per box, and you can use coupons from the Sept. 25 SmartSource circular or the Oct. 2 General Mills circular to bring the price down to $2 or $2.17 per box.
