Your local ice cream shop is granting your wish for free ice cream — and hoping that in return you’ll support someone else’s dreams coming true.
This month Coldstone Creamery partners with the Make-A-Wish Foundation to support children with life-threatening diseases. To promote the cause, Coldstone is throwing the world’s largest ice cream social Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. and will give away free ice cream. The “like-it”-sized “Sprinkled with Wishes Creation” features sweet cream ice cream, brownie, rainbow sprinkles and fudge.
You can support Make-A-Wish through your local Coldstone by purchasing a paper star for $1 in stores. 100 percent of all donations go to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Why are all the Coldstone Creamery stores on the Northside? I live in Riverdale, GA and there are none on the southside, “bomber”. Oh well

There aren’t any on the eastside either. Sounds a bit discriminatory to me. Does Coldstone think that only people who live North of Atlanta eat ice cream?

Cold Stone is a franchise company. That means individual operators open stores and run them and pay Cold Stone a fee to use their name, materials, advertising, etc. If you think it’s missing in a part of town, it’s only because no one in that part of town has decided to open a franchise. It’s not a company decision or discrimination. It’s simple geographic limitation of the current Atlanta folks willing to put up money to open stores. Look past your simple claims of discrimination for the even simpler answer. And if you really think Cold Stone ice cream has a market where you live then maybe you can be the one to make money from bringing it to your town.

Let’s get real here. People on the south and east sides of the ATL either don’t have or won’t spend money like the rich folk on the north side do. That’s also why there are no Fresh Markets, Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s, California Pizza Kitchens, or Woodcraft stores (just to name a few) in those areas. If you have $$ to spend and don’t want to drive very far to do it, move to Alpharetta.

@Melody: Regardless of you disliking my paragraph, the southside has not been too friendly to individual owners. Almost daily you see all kinds of thefts, robberies, and assaults happenin’ downthere. Not too many of employment oportunities, not too much of $$, but way too much of a crime. Would you want to have your shop in that area and run the risk of being killed one day?

Why in the bleep does every blog on this bleep site have to turn to race!!!! It’s just bleep ice cream!!!!!!!! Stop being so sensitive people and to the others get your head out of your bleep. I ignore stupidity and you should too. Stick to the subject…free ice cream for a GREAT cause. I pray that your children or grandchildren NEVER have to be a recipient of a Wish. Fill in the bleeps.
