Whitewater rafting deals

If you follow any of the deal sites in town, you know there’s been a slew of whitewater rafting specials lately. They’ll save you a ton of money on an out-of-the-ordinary adventure — and you’ll thank yourself when it’s 95 degrees outside. Plus, it’s a great date idea if you’re sick of the dinner-and-a-movie combo. Here are just a few available today.

  • LivingSocial: Try a middle-river rafting trip beginning in Benton, Tenn. for just $20 (reg. $46). The Outdoor Adventure Rafting trip consists of about one and a half hours on the water.
  • Sweet Jack: Same deal as above, but if you and your friends are truly adventurous choose the full-day version ($40 and three hours of river time) from Sweet Jack.
  • Half Off Depot: Or charge the rapids with Adventures Unlimited in Ocoee, Tenn. For only $20 (reg. $53) you’ll get a 3.5 hour trip (2 hours on the water). Blackout dates for this deal include July 16, 23, 24, 30, 31, Aug. 6 and Sept. 4.

  • KGB deals: Rapids not your thing? Try a two-hour tubing adventure right here in the metro area. KGB deals is offering a $10 tubing trip for $6.75 this week.

I did a white water trip on the Ocoee through living social. It really is half of what other people were paying and it is so much fun.

My husband and I went Whitewater for the first time last year, and I absolutely loved it! I can’t wait to go again

If you want even a better deal and not quite up to white water at this time, head to Blue Ridge, GA, take Aska Rd. about 12 miles out of town and look for Toccoa Valley Campground and the pink tubes. You tube for $10.00 per person, which includes a tube with a bottom in it, a wonderful 6 mile float down the beautiful Toccoa River, with a little white thrown in for free (the more recent rain the faster the trip), and then a return shuttle to the campground to your car. Children from about age 4 up will really enjoy this trip as well. The people who own and run the campground are wonderful people. They are closed on Sunday. The hours for tubing are 10:00 – 3:00 Monday through Saturday. This is a great way to spend a hot summer day and no reservations required and less than 2 hours from most anywhere in Atlanta. Enter your comments here Had a SPECTACULAR whitewater rafting trip with my husband and children with Wildwater Rafting on the Chattooga River. They are quality outfitters, with beautiful and very clean facilities, EXCELLENT guides with a thorough knowledge of the History, geology, and wilderness, as well as being humorous and delightfully personable.
The Chattooga is the most beautiful river I have ever seen, and we highly recommend both the trip and the outfitter.
