Should have mentioned that the $79 deal in Daytona is a promotion to get people in to hear about a purchase of something. Couples must come together, both must be over age 25, hh income over 50K, and if bringing children and/or other persons, then there is a cost for them to stay.

@say what? It states in the terms you don’t have to listen or agree to any additional promo when you arrive. You’re choice. The added promo is for upgrades if you choose to listen to a 90-120 minute presentation. As far as extra guests, all hotels charge for extra guests. That’s a no-brainer. The only extra charge is taxes and incidentals. As far as couples 25+ with income over 50K, well they don’t hand out these kind of promos to just anyone. They want people who are coming to spend a little cash, maybe even invest in a time share. Just be smart if you go and don’t get hooked.

The Beachfront Condo’s in Florida have all written in their Documents, no renters under 25. To avoid the destruction that that the under 25 crowd does to the buildings and the home owners and the associations get stuck with repairing. Also those who make less than $50K tend to have less respect towards property too.

The time-share people will be knocking at your door night and day. Make sure you are NEVER in your room if you take this “deal”.

I’d jump all over this deal, but couples only? Not fair!

When you buy the $79, you have already agreed to listening to the presentation. That is why you have to go the welcome center to pick up your reservation information BEFORE you go to the hotel. If you are a pushover for high presure sales, don’t bother with this deal, it will cost you a whole lot more than $79!!!!
Actually I was quite disapointed that this was listed as a bargain, this offer is nothing more than a pitch for some very high priced product, service or time-share and for a large percentage of people will NOT be a bargain at all!!!!
Oh, and if you do decide to do a sales pitch again for this type of crap again, please notify your readers that you are required to listen to a high presure sales pitch before they can take advantage of the “bargin”. I don’t appreciate you wasting my time and having me go to the web site thinking this was a legitimate bargain. I don’t consider listening to a high presure sales pitch for any “reward” a bargain!! Some people may consider this a bargain, but I don’t!

Hi, y’all! Thanks for looking out for your fellow readers. And I agree with Jean, “If you are a pushover for high pressure sales, don’t bother.” But if you’re not, enjoy your trip! =D

“As part of this special offer, you are NOT in any way required to attend any available presentations and you will not be pressured to do so. However, we do find that many of our travelers are happy to exchange their time for added bonuses and upgrades, and some of those travelers choose to purchase travel offerings, which allows us to continue offering special rates and advertising via special offers such as this.”
In any event, attend and leave if required! Take the Holiday Inn package. It’s away from the riff raff, but they were trying to get rid of it the last time I was down that way.

We’ve enjoyed many fre or cheap trips through the years because we are able to “just say no.” Who cares if there’s a pitch…be strong, then have some fun!

Lauren should have done her homework and alerted the readers of this column. You must get a cut if people sign up for the deal or you just don’t have your readers interest in mind when you write.

Someone needs a nap.
I get it: you don’t like time shares. Why make an accusation about the writer’s character or her competence becasue you disagree. You don’t have nearly enough facts to make either assertion. Why be so disagreeable?

How else could they offer such a deal?! Its deal no matter how you look at it. I’ve been to Hilton Head, Orlando, Myrtle Beach and Smokey Mountains; gotten a $100 gift card, free tours and trips by just saying “NO! Check it out for yourself and see if it’s worth it!
