The “Barnum’s FUNundrum!” show has flying trapeze artists performing quadruple somersaults, contortionists who can fit three humans into a cube the size of a milk crate, and an array of exotic animals including Nubian goats, tigers and even a rare Watusi. I hope the reason Ringling is offering these half off tickets is because tickets sales are slack because more and more families are seeing the pictures of Ringling Bros Circus trainers using torture training method on their baby elephants to make them perform circus tricks. http://www.ringlingbeatsanimals.com/bound-babies.asp

Excellent post Jazzie. Please show your children that you care about the animals more than you care about saving 50% on entertainment. Ringling Bros. is certainly not the worst of the worst, but their abuse has been well-documented. Animals were not put on this earth to be imprisoned for our entertainment. Please don’t patronize circuses that use animals.

Stop with the animal rights nonsense. There’s nothing wrong with RB training animals. They’re treated well.
The problem with RB is $10 popcorn and $20 “light” toys. It’s a ripoff. And dog tricks? They have dog tricks now. You can see dog tricks in your local park. Bring back lions, tigers, and bears, oh my.

In the San Francisco Bay Area there always seem to be $14.00 tickets. Maybe Ringling is trying to scam people into thinking they are getting a half-off deal by merely saying the $14.00 tickets are $28.00 tickets. PT Barnum’s scam mentality is alive and well with Ringing, just look at how Ringling’s PR that the elephants are treated humanely contrast with the video evidence showing the circus beating the elephants.

Lydias Dad, I’ve spent years studying elephants for no other reason then I respect this magnificent animal, and it becomes very clear quickly that elephants mirror the human species. So, I have to ask, you wouldn’t find it cruel and abusive if your employer used a fireplace poker to strike, jab and hook the sharp ends into your skin wounding you physically, mentally and then using a taser on you to shock you if you didn’t do your job just right? A recent video documentary was posted on You Tube about captive elephants in the United States The beating you will see on this video clearly show Ringling Bros (look for their emblem), zoos and others viciously beating elephants. It has 7 parts and the screams coming from the elephants being beaten leave no doubts that they feel pain and are abused to make them entertain the public
