Discount at Macy’s | Free Hawks-Thrashers tickets for kids | Atlanta Braves ticket discounts | Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Family deal

ASO Family Four Pack

At $95, this is a value worth mentioning: a Family Four Pack for the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre at Encore Park on Thursday, July 1 for the All-American Fireworks Celebration. The ticket package includes four covered, reserved seats (or lawn seating that will include lawn chair rental); four food baskets with a beverage, french fries, and a choice of hot dog, hamburger, chicken fingers or Polish sausage; and one parking pass. Regular ticket prices start at $27 each.

2-for-1 Braves tickets

The Atlanta Braves take on the Washington Nationals at Turner Field today through Wednesday. Tickets are 2-for-1 each night. Tonight (Monday), it’s buy one get one free for Golden Moon Casino Pavilion tickets ($28). On Tuesday, the bogo seating is for upper reserved seating. Wednesday’s special are for two field or Terrace Pavilion tickets.

Reading = Free Hawks, Thrashers tickets

It takes no effort to get children into swimming pools and onto swings during the summer months. In my household, at least, it’s tougher to get them excited about reading. They may need a little more incentive, which is why I like this list of reading activities on the Field Trips With Sue blog. For starters, Check It Out Reading Challenge offered by the Atlanta Spirit will reward kids with a free ticket to a Hawks and Thrashers game if they read five books.

Other reading programs include free book offers from Barnes & Noble and Borders, free T-shirts from the Wren’s Nest, and a variety of prizes from the Little Shop of Stories in Decatur.

Finally, Macy’s and the Reading Is Fundamental program have combined for the Book a Brighter Future Campaign. Between June 30 and July 1, donate $3 and receive a shopping pass for $10 off a $50 purchase at Macy’s.

Thanks for the link Rana. I wish there was this much incentive to read when I was a kid. But then, the only good book series were Nancy Drew and Little House on the Prairie. I wish Magic Tree House was around when I was a kid. Love those books.
