$4 AMC Movie tickets | BOGO “Little House on the Prairie” | 25% off South City Kitchen and El Taco | Ga. Renaissance Festival specials | Free screening of “LOST” |

Update: Free Spicy Chick-fil-A reservation moved to today (again)

This deal has changed dates a couple of times. Originally set for May 21, it moved to May 24. Now, it’s back to May 21. So, get cracking! Starting today, you can make a reservation to be one of the first to taste Chick-fil-A’s new Spicy Chick-fil-A sandwich, which debuts in June.

BOGO “Little House on the Prairie”

I was one of those little girls who couldn’t wait to see what Laura would be up to next on “Little House on the Prairie.” I wonder what the old television show is like as a musical? The musical comes to the Fox Theatre June 15-20. Melissa Gilbert, who played the character Laura, will play the role of Ma in this performance. Do you think Nellie Olson will be as mean now as she was on the show? Anyway, tickets are buy one, get one free on opening night, June 15, and on June 16 if you make your purchase at a Ticketmaster outlet at Publix grocery stores. This offer is not good at the Fox box office or …

When one spouse “cheats” with money

The travails of Financial Infidelity.

When I read this on Get Rich Slowly, I was heartbroken:

My ex took out a credit card in my name and ran up $40,000 debt without my knowledge. Now I’m paying it off. I asked the credit card company to investigate the matter as fraud, but they didn’t. It doesn’t seem like I have many rights. As I found out, there were many secrets behind the numbers. Right now, I’m waiting for the divorce to come through.

It’s called Financial Infidelity and it is tearing apart families. Divorce is painful and expensive — two realities that are exacerbated when one has “cheated” with the shared finances by accumulating credit card debt, making secret purchases and dealing in silent investments.

Though I was not married, I, too have been a victim of this type of activity with a partner. To recover from it — I’ve almost paid off a credit card that was maxed out without my knowledge — one must first get past the anger and get to the business of …

My newest discovery: Furniture consignment stores!

A short zigzag between couches and china cabinets, bedroom suites and dining tables, and shoppers quickly recognize the deals here at Southern Comforts.

The furniture consignment store is almost hidden behind a drug store, but once found, there is a treasure to behold. And it’s not at all unusual in metro Atlanta.

“If you’ve never been to a furniture consignment store,” said Beth Richardson, owner of The Board of Trade, “you’ll see the quality and you’ll be shocked.”

Dozens of shoppers were introduced recently when they traveled by busloads on a seven-hour tour of stores. Some concentrated on clothing outlets; others on furniture stores. Each shopper paid $35 to take part in the AtlantaConsignmentStores.com event and spent 45 minutes at each location.

AtlantaConsignmentStores.com went on a bus tour of stores.

Answers to your questions about credit scoring and credit reports

Earlier this month, Experian director of public education, Rod Griffin answered questions about credit scoring and credit reports. The live chat event was moderated by CreditCards.com editor-in-chief Dan Ray. Experian is one of three credit reporting agencies. Below are answers to some of the most frequently asked credit questions. Note: The questions and responses have been edited for clarity.

Q: How many credit cards and installment loans should a person have to create the best score?

A: There is no perfect number. What really is important is that you manage the cards that you have well. Make all the payments on time and keep the balances low. All you really need is one or two. If you do that you’ll have a good credit history and a good credit score.

Q: When do foreclosures drop off your credit, or do they?

A: Eventually they will. The good thing about credit history is that it is not permanent. All of the negative information eventually falls off and for foreclosures it’s …

The special is buy one entree’, get a second for half price (Monday through Thursday only). You’ll need to present this coupon to get the special. The coupon expires Aug. 15.

Reminder: Free Spicy Chick-fil-A sandwich reservations beginning May 24.

Chick-fil-A doesn’t come out with new sandwiches every day. Perhaps that’s why there is so much build up around the new Spicy Chicken Sandwich, set to make its official debut on June 7. If you want to be one of the first to get a taste of it, sign up here beginning May 24 to reserve your premier tasting. 10 tips for bartering and swapping for things you want

The very idea of swapping my home, as humble as it may be, for someone else’s in some exotic far-away place that I wouldn’t be able to afford otherwise is unnerving. I don’t think I could do it.

But if it’s a risk you’re comfortable with, it’s just one of several bartering and swapping opportunities that could save you hundreds if not thousands of dollars. Perhaps you’re willing to pet sit for your neighbor in exchange for a little yard work when you need it?
