Freebies and BOGOs: Cheesecake | Limeade Sparkler | Chick-fil-A Spicy sandwich | Frappuccino | Doc Green’s meal

Discount at Spoon

I am sort of torn about the 18 percent gratuity automatically added on to my bill. It’s good to know that is part of this deal being offered at Spoon’s Westside downtown location. The special is buy one entree’, get a second for half price (Monday through Thursday only). You’ll need to present this coupon to get the special. The coupon expires Aug. 15.

Reminder: Free Spicy Chick-fil-A sandwich reservations beginning May 24.

Chick-fil-A doesn’t come out with new sandwiches every day. Perhaps that’s why there is so much build up around the new Spicy Chicken Sandwich, set to make its official debut on June 7. If you want to be one of the first to get a taste of it, sign up here beginning May 24 to reserve your premier tasting. From May 31 through June 5, Chick-fil-A is giving away a limited number of free sandwiches to those customers who’ve made reservations.

BOGO Barnes & Noble Frappuccino

Use this printable coupon before it expires May 24 for a free Barnes & Noble Frappuccino when you buy one. Treat a friend!

Free Taco Bell Limeade Sparkler

The name itself sounds so refreshing: Limeade Sparkler. You can see for yourself whether the flavor is as good. Participating Taco Bell restaurants are accepting these online coupons for a free Limeade Sparkler. The coupon must be used within seven days after you’ve printed it out and is valid through July 11 or until 500,000 people redeem it. Note: It requires a Java plug-in to print.

Atlantic Station restaurant coupons

I love this Web site, There are several great printable coupons here for Atlantic Station restaurants. Among them: A free cheesecake at Copeland’s Cheesecake Bistro with a purchase of $10 or more, a free meal at Doc Green’s with the purchase of a meal and two drinks and $10 off your purchase of $25 or more at Lobby at Twelve.

Why would you be torn about the 18% gratuity? That seems completely reasonable.

@ Questioner: Only because by adding it on before I’ve even stepped foot in the restaurant, it feels more like a “charge” than a “gratuity.” It’s not the percentage the bothers me (a little), as much as the principle. The “charge” certainly has nothing to do with the quality of service I receive. Having said that, I believe in tipping, but I’d like to feel like I’m doing it because I want to.

I agree with Rana. I personally HATE IT when a restaurant automatically adds an 18% gratuity to the bill. You tip when the service is good. When it’s good, I usually go 20%. If the waiter ignored me, I drop it to 10%.

When it’s automatically added, why should the waiter care about giving me good service? They know they’ll get a good tip anyway.

I agree also. I passed recently on buying groupon style offers for that reason.
