40% off Hawks playoff tickets | Free “Glee” screening | Aquarium discount for volunteers | Free kids’ golf clinics

Save 40% on Hawks playoff games

The Atlanta Hawks will soon begin their quest for an Eastern Conference title en route to the NBA Finals. First things first though. The Hawks must get past its first-round opponent. In this offer exclusive to Travelzoo.com subscribers, tickets to two first-round games are 40 percent off — $25 for Upper Level and $50 for Lower Level. Tickets are for the first two games, either Saturday or Sunday for Game 1, and Monday, April 19 or Tuesday April 20 for Game 2. Even better: There is no Ticketmaster fees. Use promo code ZOO when purchasing.

Free Screening of Glee

There will be a free screening of the premier of “Glee” at Atlantic Station Tuesday at 9 p.m. The screening will be held in Central Park. While you’re there, there will also be a chance to win prizes.

Free golf clinics for kids

It would come as no surprise if your child caught a glance of Tiger and Phil on television this weekend while watching the Masters. If so, he or she may have gotten the urge to pick up some clubs, too. Get them started on the right foot with these free golf clinics for children ages 6 and up at the PGA Tour Superstores. The clinics are offered every Wednesday and Friday at 5:30 p.m. There are locations in Kennesaw, Duluth and Roswell. Thanks to Sue Rodman from Field Trips With Sue for the tip.

Volunteers save at the Georgia Aquarium

It’s Volunteer Appreciation Week and the Georgia Aquarium is tipping its hat to volunteers throughout the state. In partnership with the Council of Volunteer Administrators, the Aquarium is offering $17 tickets to volunteers with any agency. Tickets are only available at www.georgiaaquarium.org/atlvols or the COVA Web site at www.atlantacova.org

Thanks for the shout out Rana. FYI, I had a comment that the Kennesaw store isn’t doing the lessons. We went to Duluth (where the video in the post was filmed) and they do the lessons, so maybe call the store you want to visit before you go and make sure they have the lessons. It’s a GREAT program and our instructor in Duluth was wonderful with the kids. Also, Victoria Bryant State Park is offering free kids lessons with their pro in May — see that post here http://www.fieldtripswithsue.com/2010/04/free-junior-golf-lessons-at-ga-state-park.html. If your kids already know how to play, they can walk any of the Ga. State Parks courses for $5 (weekdays and weekend afternoons)

Ha ha ha. How sad that they have to take 40% off just to get people to go to a Hawks PLAYOFF game. In any other NBA city, this would not be an issue. Thank goodness for the Braves!
