Half-off High Museum Membership

Here’s to arguably the best deal we’ve seen for a major local cultural institution. Dual membership for the High Museum of Art is 50 percent off — only $45 — through this special Groupon.com offer. Individual membership is also available at a discount of $32. The membership is valid for one year and must be activated by April 12.  Membership materials will be mailed within three weeks. The High, of course, is home to world-class exhibitions.

$25 off McCormick and Schmick’s

McCormick and Schmick’s is one of our favorite seafood restaurants. I can’t go often, though, because it can be a bit pricey for our tastes. This, however, makes it a great deal. Halfoffdepot.com is selling certificates for $20 valued at $45 for food and drinks. The certificate is valid at the Dunwoody location.

50% off MoSaiC

Aside from the mix of upper and lower case letters in the name, I’ve heard nothing but good things about MoSaiC, located in Buckhead. The Living Social deal is $25=$50 worth of food and drinks during dinner. The certificate is valid through Sept. 11 and can only be used for dinner at the restaurant. It might be a good opportunity to visit a local favorite or try something new. On another note, the Living Social site has been upgraded into a better looking and more efficient page. They’ve done away with the complicated URL and replaced it with, quite simply, Living Social.

Dad’s Garage, $15 for two

Every time I pass by Dad’s Garage in Inman Park, I promise myself I’m going to check out this local comedy house. The deal from My Daily Thread today is a good one: $15 for two tickets. The regular price would be $44, so that’s 66 percent off.

$10 Whole World Improv

Speaking of comedy, I just got an email from Whole World Improv announcing that its Thursday night shows are now $10. You can also save on comedy shows at the Punchline when it’s free on Wednesday open mic nights and discounted on Thursdays with promo code LAFF10. Laughing Skull Lounge sends out discounts regularly to those who sign up for their emails as well.

The museum deal is a great one. Take you children there instead of circuses that feature animals. The death of the zebra today is just more evidence that people must not support any facility or business that imprisons animals for the entertainment of humans. I only mention this on this blog because discount tickets to the circus were proudly featured in a previous posting. Shame on you.
