Have you ever passed through an airport or other public venue and admired the art on display. In many instances, it was the work of high school students. I am always impressed by such talent and creativity and do not mind going to see the work of young emerging artists. The Fayette Art Center will host Brilliance In Charcoal and Graphite, featuring and middle and high school artists. The free opening reception is March 7 from 2 p.m.-5:30 p.m. The exhibit will be on display March 7 through March 30.
Everyone is encouraged to uncork a bottle of wine on Feb. 27. If you don’t have a bottle reserved for just such a special occasion, consider attending a free wine tasting at the Mercantile where they exploring affordable Chilean wines. This is a free event from noon to 3 p.m. The wines come from Terra Andina’s reserve collection. All around town you’ll find restaurants waiving through cork fees. Also, from 2-4 p.m., the Wine Cellars in Smyrna will have a free wine tasting featuring six different wines and a selection of cheeses.
“Lyndon and Lady Bird”
I’ll admit that since moving to Atlanta, I’ve yet to visit the Jimmy Carter Library and Museum. The museum hosts many talks and events, including one at 2 p.m. on Saturday featuring Bill and Sue Wills. The event is free with $8 paid museum admission.
