Green Is The Color of Love
Green is the new red, or something like that. That’s the stance of the Gwinnett Environmental & Heritage Center, and who can argue with them? The center is giving its members a free Valentine’s Day celebration on Saturday, Feb. 6, replete with an Enchanted Evening Nature Walk, dessert, coffee and a string quartet by candlelight. Even if you’re not a member, this is a fantastic deal for $30 per couple. If you want to show your children some love, bring them along since it’s only $40 for a family of four. Child care and an eco-friendly Valentine activity will be provided for children 5 and under.
Help a cause and get circus tickets
This is a great way to get two circus tickets, and help a charity as well. Now through Feb. 21, anyone making a $25 donation to United Way will receive two tickets to the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey circus regularly valued at $44. With a $50 donation, you will get four tickets regularly valued at $88. Visit the unitedwayatlanta.org Web site and click on the circus banner on the top of the page to purchase your tickets and get the tickets.
Puppies need love, too
DeKalb County Animal Services wants you to know that puppies and other pets need love on Valentine’s, too. All animals adopted there between Feb. 8 and Feb. 28 will have a discounted $60 adoption fee. The shelter is located at 845 Camp Road in Decatur. Call 404-294-2996 for more information.
Though this discount isn’t available to animals in rescue programs or shelters, it’s an otherwise can’t miss deal for pet owners. In celebration of National Spay Day on Feb. 23, Casper’s Fund will help you get your female dog or cat spayed for only $10. Make an appointment at Lifeline Animal Project Spay/Neuter Clinic for the week of Feb. 22-25, bring this flyer and $10, and Casper’s Fund will pay the rest! To schedule an appointment, call 404-292-8800. Mandatory rabies vaccination will be required if your pet’s vaccination is not current.
