First spotted on ArtsCriticAtl.com: a new partnership among Atlanta arts organizations lets audiences create their own subscription from a mix of family performances. With this program, families can get a lower-cost look at different organization’s offerings without singing up for a membership.
Use Art à la Carte to choose at least three family performances by Alliance Theatre, Atlanta Ballet, Atlanta Symphony Orchestra or the Center for Puppetry Arts. You’ll pay for tickets all at once, but receive a discount of to 20 to 25 percent. You’ll also get admission discount coupons for the Atlanta Botanical Garden, High Museum of Art and Zoo Atlanta. Free Army Ground Forces Band Holiday Concert
The U.S. Army’s Ground Forces Band returns to the Cobb Energy Centre on Dec. 11 for its 24th annual holiday concert. Admission is free with tickets that will be given away as long as they are available at the Bank of North Georgia Box Office at the Cobb Energy Centre beginning Sunday, Nov. 1, at 11 a.m. There is an eight-ticket limit per person. The performance will include traditional and contemporary holiday music, and will be provided by the 64-member band based at Fort McPherson. The program will include a sing-along, a reading of Clement Moore’s ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas set to a lively musical accompaniment, and a salute to the men and women of the Armed Forces far from home during this special time of year.
