When you think of puppet shows, you probably envision giggling children and child’s play. That’s not at all what the Ghastly Dreadfuls II is, as Inside Access blogger Jamie Gumbrecht tells us in her review of this show for adults.

• Oct. 22 is “Zombie Night.” There’s a “Pick our Brain” game before the show, a “Zombie Box” with discount tickets. Zombie costumes are, of course, encouraged.
• Oct. 31 is the annual “Ghastly Dreadfuls” Halloween Costume Contest.
• Get $2 off any full price ticket by wearing a costume to any performance.
• Wear a costume to any performance and save $2.00 on a full-price ticket. It’s not valid on previously purchased tickets.
• Students get half-off tickets on Thursdays with a valid student ID.

I found this coupon on freeshiet.com. You’ll have to check with the T.G.I.F. restaurant in your area to make sure it is participating, but it seems incredibly easy: Bring in this coupon and get a free entree worth $15 or less. It’s good through Oct. 31.

Free Subway

It’s only one location, but may be worth it if you’re in the area. The Subway at 2090 Dunwoody Club Drive is giving away a six-inch sub with the purchase of a large drink and a bag of chips. Here’s the coupon.

If you haven’t discovered Groupon.com, or clicked on the link over in my blog roll, you’ve probably already missed a lot of deals of interest. The Web site offers a deep discount on a restaurant or service every day in the area, but you have to make the purchase on the day it is posted. Today’s is 60 percent off — $10 for $25 in goods — at The Roswell Tea House.

Half-off show tickets

This is a reminder of a way to save on show tickets around town. It’s not always convenient, but the savings are worth it. AtlanTix sells tickets for half-price to some of the hottest shows in town, like Mozart’s Magic Flute by the Atlanta Ballet and The Sty of the Blind Pig by True Colors Theatre. Not all tickets are available online or in advance, and there is a service fee attached to the sell of the ticket. Before going to the Underground Atlanta Visitors Center to buy tickets in person, call and check on availability.
