RAIN: A Tribute to the Beatles

This is a great way to save on tickets to see “RAIN: A Tribute to the Beatles” playing at the Fox Theatre, Oct. 6-11. You can get tickets for half-price to the Tuesday, Oct. 6 and Wednesday, Oct. 7 performances when you purchase them at Publix Ticketmaster locations.

A Christmas Carol: BOGO Half-off Offer

I can’t wait for the holiday season to get here. It’s my favorite time of the year and among the highlights are all of the wonderful musicals, plays and performances that come through Atlanta. Take A Christmas Carol, for instance. It’s a story that never gets old. I’ll be one of the first to make my buy one, get one half-off purchase on Monday to see select performances of A Christmas Carol at The Alliance Theatre between Nov. 27-Dec. 6. The BOGO half-off offer applies to these shows:

Nov. 27 at 8 p.m.; Nov. 29 at 2:30 p.m.; Dec. 4 at 8 p.m.; Dec. 5 at 2:30 p.m.; and Dec. 6 at 7:30 p.m.

You can buy three ways:

– Go to alliancetheatre.org and use promo code “SALE” between 7 a.m. and midnight

– Call The Alliance at 404-733-5000 and mention “One Day Sale”

– Go to the Woodruff Center box office.

The tickets must be in price levels two and three.

Save at Six Flags

Six Flags has rolled out its 2010 season pass for $449.95, $5 cheaper than a regular one-day pass. But that’s not the best part of the deal, in my opinion. You’ll get a $300 coupon book that includes five bring-a-friend-free offers. You can also get in the rest of 2009 on the 2010 pass, but it will likely be too cold to hang out an amusement park soon. That’s why I like what it offers consumers next year.

Save on Atlanta Ballet’s “Mozart’s Magic Flute” and “Pinocchio”

These deals are exclusive for Cobb Energy Centre subscribers, but if you fall in that category, you’ll want to jump on these.

For today only, select tickets are 2-for-one for “Mozart’s Magic Flute” playing Oct. 15-24. The special applies only to the $67 and $87 tickets.  The Ballet will have live accompaniment by the Atlanta Ballet Orchestra and Georgia Tech’s Chorale Ensembles.  The Ballet is described as: “A scintillating score and mesmerizing movement unite to tell this poignant story of love, vengeance and the triumph of good over evil.”

Pinocchio is a one-hour family ballet, and is performed in a small two-day window, Oct. 24-25. With the special, four-seat tickets are $80, and are good for any of the performances. You must buy four tickets to get the reduced price. There is no indication that these have to be bought today.

Reminder: Free Starbucks!

Starbucks has unveiled its new instant coffee, one it says rivals the taste of its fresh brew. You can judge for yourself, and get a freebie, too. From Oct. 2-5, go into the store and participate in the VIA Taste Challenge: you’ll taste the Colombia Starbucks VIA Ready Brew and the fresh-brewed Pike Place Roast, and try to tell which is which. After you’re done, and surely all caffeniated, you’ll get a coupon for a free Tall brewed coffee for your next visit, and a coupon for $1 off off a VIA purchase.

Save on Third at Horizon

It’s Friday, which means it’s Girl’s Night at the Horizon Theatre, which means tickets are $5 off for ladies. Regular ticket prices for “Third” range from $15 to $25. In addition to the discount, ladies also have a little pre-show fun, starting at 7 p.m.

Free local museum admission

Atlanta’s most noted museums have partnered with Bank of America to offer BOA customers free admission on the first full weekend of every month, including this Saturday and Sunday. The High Museum, Atlanta History Museum, Fernbank, Atlanta Botanical Garden, The Atlanta Zoo and Millennium Gate are all participating. All BOA customers have to do is present their ATM card, credit card or check card, along with a valid ID.

The High is also free to Fulton County residents with proper identification this Saturday.

Save $101 on The 101 Dalmatians Musical

This deal is so outstanding, it’s worth repeating. I found this on Travelzoo.com yesterday. Here’s the post from last night:

gotta have some fine print on the BOA museum free weekends. it’s ONE TICKET PER CARDHOLDER, as we found when we took the family out to the zoo. Still a good bargain, just not as “FREE” as advertised.
