Avatar Screening

I don’t profess to know much about Avatar, but it is a thrilling sci-fi for a a lot of people. You might be interested in getting up to two free passes for a 15-minute preview on a local IMAX screen. While you’re there, just stay and see another movie. You’ll need to go to this website to get your two passes emailed to you..NOTE: Right now (1:30 p.m.), this deal is suspended until 3 p.m., according to the site. I don’t know what’s up with that, but check back after 3.

Boutique Armoire

Boutique Armoire, the children’s designer clothing consignment sale, featuring more than 100 consignors for clothing, electronics, toys and other items, is Friday and Saturday at the Dunwoody Plaza Shopping Center. This marks the 10th anniversary of this huge sale on new and gently used items. The new items are separated from the gently used ones, improving your shopping experience.

You’re sure to get bargain prices, but for the best deal, keep in mind that Saturday is “discount day.” Also, check the website for early bird admission coupons on Friday and Saturday. In the future, you should consider volunteering for the event for even more savings. According to the note I received, volunteers, in exchange for giving three or more hours of their time, get to shop the presale with the consignors. Consignors earn 70% of the ticketed price of their sales less a $5 registration fee and also get to shop the presale as well.

A comprehensive alphabetical list of the brands accepted/not accepted can be found on the sale’s website: www.BoutiqueArmoire.com.

Hours for the public sale are:
Friday August 21, 2009 9:00am-7:30pm
Saturday August 22, 2009 9:00am-5:30pm*
The Boutique Armoire is renting temporary space in The Dunwoody Plaza Shopping Center:
1418 Dunwoody Village Pkwy, Atlanta, GA 30338 (near the intersection of Mt. Vernon and Chamblee Dunwoody Rd).

At least they’re doing the freebie thing right, instead of how KFC screwed it up with the free grilled chicken. Check that. KFC didn’t screw it up. Oprah and all her sheeple screwed it up. In a way KFC did screw it up by allowing her to announce it.

Chick Fi La – they are professionals that know how to run a business. KFC obviously continues to be plagued with customer service issues, including the one where you couldn’t get the free grilled chicken. I recently used my coupon and after going to KFC 4 times regarding their free chicken promotion to get free chicken was told that I couldn’t have white chicken. It was the manager’s discretion per the coupon and he chose to be an “”a’’s’’s. That was my last visit to KFC, should have known better anyway based on how poorly they’re run.

Continue the good work Chick Fi La
