Back to school with cheap Grease tix and free backpacks

Can’t you just see John Travolta and Olivia Newton John dancing and singing tunes like “Hopelessly Devoted to You” and “You’re The One That I Want”?

If you had a flashback, you should fast-forward to Sunday, when Grease the musical ticket prices at the Fox Theatre are reduced to salute “Back to School.” Grease is throwing a party at Sunday’s 6:30 p.m. performance of the show Time Magazine called the No. 1 Musical of the Year, with oldies blaring from the 106.7 radio remote, classic cars, prize giveaways and free popcorn. All for $25 for adults, and $15 for students.

If you bring a school supply, you’ll get a free drink along with your popcorn, too.

Tickets are available at Ticketmaster at the Fox box office, where you won’t be hit with the big service fees.

Free backpack

I don’t know if the kids from Grease’s Rydell High carried backpacks, but today’s school kids sure do. So, you might want to take advantage of this Office Depot deal. With a minimum purchase of $10, customers get a free backpack while supplies last, Sunday through Wednesday, Aug. 12. The store also has deeply reduced prices on crayons, markers, scissors, composition books and binders.

Check back this afternoon for even more savings
