McDonald’s coupon | 1/2 price ‘For Colored Girls’ | BOGO Maggiano’s

The sellout 29-show run of “For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow is Enuf” has been extended through Aug. 13. True Colors Theatre Company added five performances to the show directed by the Jasmine Guy at the Southwest Arts Center.

Half-price tickets for tonight’s show sold out in a snap at the two Atlantix ticket booths in Underground Atlanta and at Lenox Square. I’m told there will be a FEW available for Thursday’s night show. Including fees, you’d pay $20.50 for the day-of purchase. No online ticket purchases are available at the discount site for this show. The ticket outlet said today that it does not yet know whether it will have tickets for the remaining shows, but at this price and as fast as the shows are selling out, it is worth checking the website daily. The extended shows are: 7:30 p.m. Sunday; 8 p.m. Aug. 11 and Aug. 12; and 2:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. Aug. 13.

Nicole Ari Parker and Crystal Fox will continue in the play, although Robin Givens will not. Full-price tickets can be purchased at Truecolorstheatre.org or by calling 1-877-725-8849.

Maggiano’s

The Today & Tomorrow promotion by Maggiano’s continues through August and for big eaters, it’s a pretty good deal. Buy one pasta entree’ — it’s plenty enough for two people, by the way — and take a second entree’ home with you. This is a dine-in only offer.

McDonald’s coupon

From sit-down Italian to hot French fries, there is free food for all. AffluentPauper.com came across a McDonald’s coupon for a free order of fries and a drink with the purchase of an Angus burger. You have three choices for your purchase: Deluxe, Mushroom and Swiss or Bacon and Cheese.

Free Book Reading

Make sure your children are well-rested and alert for a free reading of “The Tree Farmer” at noon Saturday at Imagine It! The Children’s Museum of Atlanta. Chuck Leavell, a Georgia tree farmer when not playing keyboards for the Rolling Stones, is now a children’s book author, too. The book is intended for kids ages 5-8. The event is free with museum admission.

BOGO Pinocchio

Using promo code ATLCheap or by calling 404-873-3391 and mentioning Atlanta on the Cheap, you can buy one ticket, get one free for performances of Pinocchio Thursday through Sunday, Aug. 9, at the Center for Puppetry Arts. There’s a limit of four tickets per order for this special show featuring puppets made from recycled materials like kitchen utensils, baskets and tennis rackets.
