Southwest Airlines Atlanta Flashmob: A Front Row Seat (Video)

Screen Shot 2012-02-13 at 8.37.50 AMWhile some people like front row seats to fancy concerts, I prefer front row seats to street performances. So when the Southwest Airlines Employee Flash Mob busted a move in Terminal C of Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport just before I boarded my plane to Denver, I made my way to the middle of the madness! Complete with disco lights and Jermaine Dupri’s Welcome to Atlanta, I had to remind myself that I was there to capture the moment and not to breakdance all over Terminal C. It was refreshing to see men and women from such a broad range of backgrounds come together for some light-hearted fun. If you’re wondering who choreographed these smooth moves, you should have already guessed by now —a Southwest employee! You’ll have a chance to meet master choreographer, Nikki when you watch the video.

WARNING: If you’re watching from your office, I suggest that you staple and tape yourself to your seat, because you WILL want to dance. I promise.

Join in on the fun and watch now! Meanwhile, I’m off to discover Denver!

Actually, those are AirTran flight attendants soon to be Southwest flight attendants. The uniforms for AirTran and Delta are very similar, however. From my understanding, all of the dancers were current AirTran employees welcoming Southwest with a flash mob. A job well done, nevertheless.

Where did those Southwest employees get those Delta uniforms? Very observant. I hope you got onto the right plane after that.

You may not know it, but if you plan on flying Southwest and your travel plans involve connecting with another airline, you will have to claim your bag(s) at baggage claim and recheck them with the other airline and then reprocess through security again as Southwest does not interline bags to or from other airlines.

Well video is entertaining but, whether or not Southwest does well will boil down to COST and SERVICE. I can already tell you they are messing up on the SERVICE from a flight availability standpoint. Flights on AirTran (whom they just purchased) have been seriously reduced. If this trend continues, they can kiss Atlanta good bye (or at least for me).
