Alliance’s ‘Bike’ will roll to N.Y.
“Bike America,” the 2013 Alliance National Graduate Playwriting Competition winner, hasn’t had its world premiere yet at the Alliance Theatre, but already it has been confirmed for an off-Broadway run starting in October by the Ma-Yi Theater Company, the Alliance said Wednesday. Written by Mike Lew from the Juilliard School’s Drama Division, the play about millennial generation restlessness opens on the Alliance’s Hertz Stage on Feb. 1-24. Though four Alliance competition winners have gone on to play New York eventually, “Bike America” is the first to make the jump directly from Atlanta. 404-733-5000, www.alliancetheatre.org.
