ATTRACTIONS
Fernbank Forest access limited
Self-guided tours of Fernbank Forest have been suspended as the Fernbank Museum of Natural History conducts a master plan for the 65-acre old growth Piedmont Forest. The museum took over management of the forest on Sunday, after the DeKalb County School System’s 48-year lease expired. While ecologists, biologists, landscape architects and experts create a stewardship plan, a process certain to span months, Fernbank will offer some guided tours and bird walks. Check www.fernbankmuseum.org for dates as they are confirmed. HOWARD POUSNER
