Calling all metro Atlanta artists with a proven track record.
The Museum of Contemporary Art of Georgia is now accepting applications for its 2012-2013 “Working Artist Project.” Three established visual artists will be selected by guest juror Julie Rodigues Widholm, the Pamela Alper Associate Curator at the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago. Those who make the cut will receive a stipend to fund their work over the course of a year. The awardees will also get studio assistants and other support. At the end of the term the artists will be given a major exhibition through MOCA GA. Deadline for submissions is June 30 at 5 p.m. For more information about the application process go to www.mocaga.org. And if you want to see work by the 2011-2012 “Working Artist Project” winners, Gregor Turk, Martha Whittington and Brian Dettmer, their work will be on view in three separate shows that run consecutively from now until Jan. 5, 2013. On view now, through July 14 is Turk’s show, “Terminal Velocity.”
