Kelly Clarkson’s new single ‘Mr. Know It All’ is out

kelly-clarkson

So Kelly Clarkson’s new single “Mr. Know It All” is out. Maybe you’ve heard it. It’s about folks who think they know you more than they do. If you haven’t heard it yet, check it out here:

Vocally, Kelly is in fine form. It has some decent hooks. The title is memorable. I’ve listened to it a few times now. Is it going Top 5? That’s a safe bet. Is it No. 1 material like “My Life Would Suck Without You” or “Since U Been Gone”? I’m not sure.

Kelly was actually just on The Bert Show. She was as charming as ever.

Didnt mean to offend anyone, but is this not a BLOG? Maybe it’s the clothes she has on…I get the impression she is trying to dress like Beyonce Knowles, but she does not have the right body for it.

I’ve always wondered why she likes those open front tops. She could change her name to Flatty McChesterson and everyone would nod their head in approval. Not that there is anything wrong with that, I’m tickled to see that she is happy with her body and didn’t feel the need to alter it just because fame dictates it.

People are robbing hair salons for those extensions… glad Kelly got hers… and that she tossed them, once she’d tried them out. Those fake locks make all girls look the same. Kelly looked wonderful on that song cover, though.

As for body type, Beyonce ain’t no size 2. And Rihanna? Thunder thighs comes to mind.

Marc Anthony is setting the record straight on his breakup from Jennifer Lopez in an upcoming exclusive interview with ABC.

Anthony tells ABC’s “Nightline” that the crumbling of their marriage “wasn’t something sensationalistic.”

Tabloids have claimed Anthony was unfaithful, but he says the truth is the union no longer worked. He also says the decision was mutual.

The pair announced their split in July after seven years of marriage. The couple has 3-year-old twins named Max and Emme.

Anthony says he wants to move forward with his life and career. He summarizes his situation as “not a funeral, not a burial.”

Part of the interview will air on Thursday’s “Good Morning America.” The full interview will air Thursday night on ABC’s “Nightline.”

Dear Name (required): ANYone is allowed to express a “differing opinion in here.” We just don’t appreciate opinions which are rude, mean-spirited, insulting or add nothing to the conversation. Tim’s opinion pretty much fits all those.

We’ve all been around awhile, but we always like newcomers – but can express our dismay at seemingly unkind remarks to our beloved faves.

Speaking of unkind, I’m finding all the nasty remarks the probably small group of “Christians” (uh-huh!) are making about Chaz Bono being on DWTS pretty distressing. Talk about “bringing that sort of thing into our homes with children” – for God’s sake, do they expect a live sex-change operation to be performed between dances? Hateful, spiteful, ignorant, uninformed people. Headline on AJC front today “Producers asking “give Chaz a chance”. Crazy. The only problem I see with Chaz is that his weight might present a lot of problems in dancing positions.

Sam-A, I have never heard anything but good things about Chaz. I saw his interview with Oprah, and I admire his courage at being so honest about it all. I’m saddened that some Christians are using this as a way to promote hate. I’ll understand that as I was raised as a Christian to treat others the way I’d like to be treated and that people’s relationship with God is their business.

Harriett

I believe that in life we are given opportunities to grow–whether it be in our faith or simply as human beings. It is up to us what we do with those opportunities. Chaz offers us one.

I converted to Judaism long ago, but was sent to Sunday School as a kid long enough to know the Bible says “do unto others as you’d have them to unto you”, “love thy neighbor as thyself” and many other things indicating that God meant for everyone to be accepting to others. Sometimes that’s really really hard to do when someone like that Casey bi-ch, Ted Bundy, John Wayne Gacey, et al come along – you just want to see them dead and in Hell. And I know we as a group have a really hard time accepting the trampy, trashy ways of Idol winner #3 (she who must not be named), but on the whole we are pretty accepting of different races, orientations, etc. here in our little Blog Home.

PS: Sad this am to see Jill Becker leave. I’ve watched and enjoyed her on WXIA for many years, even before the call letters were WXIA! A lovely tribute Matt Lauer and TODAY had, with people on the plaza holding “Goodbye Jill” signs – very cool.

And, next weekend I am going to the beach for an annual trip with my best friend from high school. She and I are both crazy college football fans, and guess what? JTesla

September 2nd, 2011

Between 1.5 to 2 hours from home I have the option of being at multiple beaches. We have a few areas that are commercialized and many more that are natural. The place I’m staying is commercialized, but in a small town… quaint sort of way. We’ll drive down the coast a bit to visit a few isolated areas, but we’ll also hit the big commercialized area for fun. Nothing like Southern California, but I have to get some salt-water taffy.

Oh and no hurricane. I didn’t even know that Katia was a name.

For anyone that wants to stalk me I’ll be at Rockaway Beach, and if you are going to stalk me be sure to stop by the Tillamook Cheese Factory for some cheese curds and then stop by the Tillamook Country Smoker Factory outlet for some jerky and 2′ long pepperoni.

JTesla

Sam, the water is freezing, it comes to us from Alaska, but kids and crazy people do swim in it. Once you get used to it, i.e. numb, it’s fine for wading into. The good thing is when it is 90° in town we can make a short drive and be in 70° weather with cold water.

Sam-A

September 2nd, 2011
11:02 am

Hey, I’d take the cool weather and cold water any time – there’s always swimming pools, and with the exception of the beautiful, crystal clear turquoise Caribbean waters, I much prefer pools anyway. Ever since “Jaws”, I like to be able to see beneath the water, and haven’t found any ocean water in the US that makes that possible.

Big dream – win a huge lottery and move to Carmel-By-The-Sea (since a tiny cottage is in the multi-millions $$, must be a tremendously large pot)

Sam-A

September 2nd, 2011

However, do love to sit by the sea, the salty ocean air, the sound of waves, the breezes – just so I can swim in the pool.

Harriett

JT, the water temps on the SC beaches are between 84 and 86 degrees right now. It still feels “cold” when you step in the ocean, but does not take but a second to adjust.

JTesla

September 2nd, 2011
11:09 am

When I was 17 I went along the South Carolina and Georgia coasts with my parents. I remember the water being warm, but I also remember the water being brownish. Did I just hit the beach at a bad time? The waves were kind of small too, but there are rare times along the Oregon coast where the ocean is very tame.

I kind of liked the warmer water temperature.

Sam-A

September 2nd, 2011
11:15 am

The Atlantic coast is always “brownish” – but the temps are nice. Actually in FL, where we went every year when I was a kid/teen, there are some pretty big waves. Not “surfin” waves, but enough to knock a 5 year old down. Have to go to Gulf coast for slightly clearer water, but the only place in the East for beautiful blue clear water is the Caribbean – so clear you can see your toes when you’re in water up to your neck.

Love the beach talk! Be careful giving out too much info, JT,you know my grandson lives close,at least “close” as compared to Atlanta.

Re Maggie and Scarlett. S. is fine but sore and covered with bugs. Frontline dose should help that. Maggie spent last night in an ICU for severe dehydration, infection and pain from the swelling in her surgery leg. Seems she also suffered a nasty snake bite(typical of Maggie) and combined with her age and her surgery leg, it nearly killed her. But she’s doing well today and I’m picking her up this afternoon.

Actually, JT, it is mostly during the high tides that the water is colored dark like that, or if there is an ivasion of seaweed. It is mostly kind of dark green and if the sun shines on it, it turns all kinds of pretty shades of green/blue. But, it is never clear. We do get high waves, but only during times of stormy weather. But the waves are much higher than the Gulf ones.

JT, strong tides on Atlantic coast…we have house on Wilmington River outside Savannah (Paula D.lives down the road!) and there’s a tide difference of 12 feet, which makes the river “brownish”. Some of our guests think it’s nasty to swim in the “muck”; we love it.
