Carrie Underwood on top of country charts again with ‘Remind Me;’ charges dropped against Bucky Covington

Screen grab of the video with Carrie and Brad.

Screen grab of the video with Carrie and Brad.

Carrie Underwood has landed her 13th No. 1 hit “Remind Me,” the duet with her CMA co host Brad Paisley, according to Mediabase 24/7.

It may or may not go No. 1 on the Billboard country chart. (There, she has 11 official No. 1 hits.) Jake Owen’s “Barefood Blue Jean Night” is climbing quickly and is positioned to lap Underwood/Paisley.  Dierks Bentley’s “Am I the Only One” is the current country No. 1 song on the Billboard country chart.

Scotty McCreery’s single “I Love You This Big” appears to have peaked at No. 15. Airplay is starting to drop. He has a new single coming out “The Trouble With Girls.”

Kellie Pickler’s “Tough” is still going up, ever so slowly, and is now at No. 30.

- Kelly Clarkson’s new single “Mr. Know It All” debuts later today.

- And congratulations to Bo Bice! He announced on his Facebook page today that he is expecting his fourth child.

- Plus, charges against Bucky Covington were dropped after a promoter claimed Bucky and his brother tried to steal from him. In reality, it appears, the promoter William Fuller over-extended himself and tried to lay the blame on the Covingtons. Idiot. More details here.

From the previous thread: Not sure what I missed. However, let the record show, that neither Nancy Grace, Chaz Bono nor Katie Couric “float my boat.”

Oh, and yay, Carrie! Yay, Kelly, new music!

Went back & read Rodney’s original post about Bucky.

“I find this one hard to belief but there is a police report and TMZ dutifully reported that Bucky Convington allegedly stole $1,500 from a promoter earlier this month.”

Not only should Bucky sue this guy… but the police should charge him with filing a false report.

Nancy Grace already had Bucky guilty and sentenced to life.

I agree that Bucky should sue the promoter on several issues, which also involves defamation of charatcter produced by those charges. Even if the promoter is insolvent at this time, a judgement can be placed on future earnings or ownership of certain types of property.

It’s not cheap to file a suit, but he may find a lawyer willing to do it on contingency because of his name recognition.

JTesla

Too many people suing each other as it is. Bucky just needs to focus on putting out some good music. If Bucky is really upset by it maybe he and Rocky could pay the promoter a special visit one evening.

While I did not see the Nancy Grace version of this, don’t watch it, I also think that it will be appropriate to send the Nancy Grace exploitation machine a little memo – and depending on what she said, Bucky should sue her as well.

Since I pay my own band members, not getting promptly paid on a booking is a caution of mine to begin with, usually not a problem, but there are a few crooks in the business – especially if booking a multi-band show away from your local circle.

Even had a County Fair Board that went belly-up one time with no assets during a County Fair promo weekend. One of their Board members had evidentally been skimming the funds and the books did not indicate there were no funds, and the checks were going to bounce..

Listen, I like Carrie and I’m probably going to get slammed here but it’s Brad Paisley’s song “featuring Carrie Underwood”, …so I personally wouldn’t rank it as HER 13th #1 hit.

Just sayin’. :-)

TC

I totally agree with Highlander.Brad Paisley invited Carrie to sing that song with him,NOT the other way around. Therefore,Brad should get the credit for the #1,NOT CARRIE!

Rodney Ho

Interesting debate. It is on Brad’s album but it’s credited as a duet, not like most pop and hip-hop songs today which use the word “featuring” as in “Give Me Everything” by Pitbull featuring Ne-Yo, Nayer and Afrojack. I would still give Carrie credit personally.

JTesla

August 30th, 2011

And the winner is: both. I would view the duet as neither solely Brad’s nor solely Carrie’s, but it is a hit for Carrie and Brad or Brad and Carrie, depending on how you wish to view it. Might as well add it to Carrie’s total, and also to Brad’s total, and when we start totalling their joint totals… +1 there too.

Rickster, great site. Thanks.

Morning!

Heading back down to the ranch soon which is from where both dogs disappeared. I suppose it’s possible that they weren’t stolen but the girls know that property better than they know here at home. They were both gone within an hour of hubby’s arrival and without a sound to indicate that they might be chasing deer. We have been over every inch of the acreage and can find no sign of them. The neighbors are all on alert and have been wonderful with suggestions and help.

Tears, anger, frustration. I can’t even begin to tell you what this feels like but those of you who have been through a pet’s disappearance already know.

Deirdre – how truly horrible. So vey sorry. NPR had a big story on stolen dogs recently and I’ve read about it in other news too. Because of “hard times” people just take dogs they can’t afford (even at rescue places you have to pay a fee. and rightly so). There’s also people who steal dogs to sell them.

Hope you will find your dogs safe and sound soon.

D, keep your chin up. My dog that I had for 5 years “disappeared one day.” We searched the acreage, the woods and made flyers and had finally given up hope after nine days. I walk out my door to go to work on the 10th day and up from the woods comes my dog, walking ever so slowly, looking exhausted and skinny. But he was alive and found his way home. I asked him for weeks where the Heck he had been but he just smiled and told me he was glad to be home. Hoping for the best for your two.

Deirdre: If you don’t have great news, please got to the site above “Oliver’s”. This site was created about a year ago by a couple who live in my area. They were on vaca, and left their beloved little Oliver with trusted friends. Somehow Oliver got out and with their considerable efforts, including rushing back to town immediately, keeping fresh signs all over the neighborhood for a year and posting a large reward, he never came home.

They were so brokenhearted, they decided to try and help others in the same situation. It quickly went nationwide, and I understand they have a good success rate in getting little ones back home to those who love them.

Please check it out.

Sam-A, that’s a great link. There is also http://www.fidofinder.com D, also, make sure the area vets know they are missing. Sometimes people will bring dogs in to check if they are microchipped. I did that with Lucky when I found him. (He wasn’t). The vets usually keep a lost and found board.

The news is good! I was at the ranch for about an hour when I got a phone call from a woman who said she had my dogs. They had climbed up on her porch and gone to sleep. They were over 5 miles away from home base at that point so I guess screaming myself hoarse calling them wasn’t going to work. They are beat up, exhausted a little too warm(fever?) and Scarlett is wheezing a little. I’m going to let them sleep as long as they want and see if they improve(Scarlett is already sounding a little better) Maggie had 6 thorns stuck in her chest and really appreciated getting them pulled out. She is swollen around her shoulder, I’ve looked for snake bites but haven’t found any. All in all, they look like they’ve been through an ordeal but they are definitely happy to be home.

My little Poo will never get out the front door without leash and harnass. I hate this song remind me….it’s terrible…it’s just because they host all the award shows that this song is even popular. The two of them seem like country cousins and to hear their voices intermingled is just creepy to me! This is good song that could have been fantastic if different performers had been chosen to sing it. It’s all about the money though and they have the popluarity to pull off a #1 even for a so/so song.
