Should Jennifer Lopez stay or go?

While Jennifer Lopez hems and haws about coming back for another season of “American Idol,” Steven Tyler and Randy Jackson are good to go, according to EW.com.

Tyler would be working his second year and hopefully, he’ll drop the adjective “beautiful.” And maybe Randy, who has been there since day one in 2002, might give up the “in it to win it” line.

But don’t count on it.

Host Ryan Seacrest has signed on as well.

It’s not clear how much time Lopez has before she has to make a final call. My guess is August. I’m also sure “Idol” is seeking a back-up female judge in case Lopez moves on.

And it sounds like Nigel Lythgoe, widely credited for helping resurrect “Idol” this year, will return, too.

Great, glad to see ST coming back…but I want him to be more of a judge this next season. Am I first?

I hope JLo doesn’t do a Palin.

I would rather see JLo bow out of Idol. I was more than just a little irritated by her constant interruption of Randy when he was actually trying to give constructive criticism. If she can’t stand her opinion being contradicted then she shouldn’t be a judge.

NPH! HCJ!

Sorry Steven is coming back, and hoping JLo isn’t. I was really hoping Jimmy I would take over one of the judge seats, and they for sure won’t have 3 guys. One more “beautiful, just beautiful” for a disgustingly bad performance may just push me off a ledge!

This is good news, Rodney. This season the show was rejuvinated and needs to keep the momentum. Like you said, Rodney, perhaps ST will drop the “beautiful” word and go back to the guy we saw during the auditions this past season. J Lo will have to improve and get tougher if she is back, IMO. But, all in all, good news!

After what that mindless pr-ck Randy did to Haley he can eat sh-t and die. Same with JLO. Here’s what I have to say to them both: http://youtu.be/17eSUnQ-_ek

While I am neither a fan or disparager of Steven Tyler, as the show went on, I came to appreciate his style of giving a lot of encouraging, positive comments to the contestants.

I think when we see a contastant that we connect with in song style and personality, we hope to see them praised and tear-down the others. Singing live and holding perfect pitch throughout, is far, far, far more difficult than doing studio recordings — where you can cut, paste and patch your best phrasing together after 10 takes.

Randy tried too much to be the half-Simon critique’r, and J lo, sometimes seemed to babble-on in various directions, between the showing of her videos, and live performances and hypothetical (magazines need something to write about) Most Beautiful Woman accolades.

However, I could endure her better than I could if Chrsitina Aguilara ever got on that show.

Does your lives REALLY revolvve around this stupid show so much that it’s discussion worthy? I promise to buy you all a life once I win the lottery.

Personally, I think most of the bloggers have plenty going-on in their lives, just enjoy the music talent shows – as some people might enjoy sit-coms or crime stories or drama T.V. or movies.

I could not watch THE VOICE last night (dvr it for later), because I was producing a song at a recording studio, with a professional film crew that wanted to record the keyboard player working on the song – to help with some promotions for his talent. He is legally blind, but has a great grasp of complimenting several different genres of music with his style.

Have been in several different cities this past week on business (not music) and played a music gig locally — so AI doesn’t take-up a lot of time, but just a show some of us enjoy watching and commenting, and keeping-up with the success that some have from the show.

If you do win the lottery though, remember the flood & tornado relief funds. Musicians both known and unknown have been helping with concerts and personal donations

I have no life, I found that everything runs better without one.

I’m sorry to hear that these two clowns are coming back.

Dang. Dang, dang, dang.

(Spoiler follows)

I’ve really got to stop watching reality TV with America voting when they consider a Y-chromosome a necessity for the win.

So a guy wins The Voice…I guess that shoots their bragging rights in the foot.

Mark the calendar for July 2013 and see where the career of Dia or Vicci has gone, compared to Javier. Nothing agaist Javier, but the girls have much greater potential in the long-run.

While the producers will do an album and pay the dough and the tour expense, Javier will have a leg-up in the short-run, but not a great bet to stay top 40 relevant in the biz 2 years from now.

Woodpappy… Aerosmith has a song called “Pink.” One of the lines from it is, “Pink… it’s my favorite color.”

Just pull the plug already, Fox. Don’t Terry Schaivo the show. Let it die with dignity.
