Kelly Clarkson may have sung the National Anthem 1,000 times before but she can still do it better than virtually anybody else. Check her out from last night’s NBA finals in Dallas:

Ok, the blog just ate my last post. I said I was saying bye today as I am headed to the SC coast for a long weekend. And, my team, the University of South Carolina Gamec0cks are playing baseball in the Columbia, SC Super regionals this weekend for a chance to go back to the College World Series. Go Gamec0cks!! See y’all when I get back.

Rickster: Can’t deny I see some promise in that young lady. If only she could sustain it for several years, and have a darling personality as well. Oh, Wait! She has and she does!

Have fun Harriett. Since the Shockers didn’t make it, I guess I’ll cheer on your team. And by “cheer on” I mean in spirit, because I’m headed to the other coast, but not until the real weekend.
When you got it, you got it. Kelly got it.

Anyone see on front page that the Texas Rangers drafted Johnathan Taylor, the UGA baseball player who was paralyzed a few months ago when he and a teammate collided, 33rd? How wonderful for this young man, and how cool these TX dudes have turned out to be. Hope a miracle happens and he can actually join his new team one day!

Gosh, I take a 24 hr break from this blog and all kinds of interesting discussion ensue. This after having to literally talk about garbage on the last thread I visited!
Kelly is what Idol is all about.
Finally saw the Voice, Was only familiar with Xtina A before the show; now I know SO MUCH about those judges/coaches… would have liked to get to know the contestants instead.
Didn’t care for ANY of the singers.
Will not tune in again.
As for the Cole girl, when your boss says “you don’t seem happy here” that’s a sign you’re about to get fired.
I’m pro-morphone drips (BIG ones) to dying people in pain. So grateful my mother, cancer-ridden stroke-victim, was allowed tio die this way in another country…

Good Morning, everybody!
Interesting how few comments appear after a positive, new thread… of coruse, in this case, there’s nothing to quibble about: Kelly reigns over all the other Idols. Yes, even Carrie and Adam have to pay their respects.

Missing “Idols”? Tonight, at 10 pm, on Cinemax, you can catch JLo’s ONE good movie, “Out of Sight”. ‘Course it helps that George Clooney co-stars, and movie was directed by Steven Soderbergh.

The whole cast is great – Ving Rhames, Don Cheadle, Dennis Farina, Albert Brooks.
And on HBO there is “Too Big to Fall” again. Superb, must-watch thriller about how the US got into its financial mess.

Hey, popin in. I’ll have to watch the video at home.
Best national anthem performances I’ve seen.
1. Dixie Chicks – Super Bowl in the 90s
2. Some random chick at a block party in college. She stood up on a coffee table in an apartment and belted out the national anthem. It brought a house full of drunks to a stand still. Was simply amazing and you had to be there to appreciate it… Maybe it was Kelly?

Sure Kelly is good; but she’s no Roseanne Barr.
Now, if Kelly could suit up for the Mavs and take out Lebron James, all would be right with the world. I don’t give a hoot about the NBA, but am so tired of over-hyped Lebron.

You may like whomever you wish, carla roqs. I’m sure Lebron is a superstar basketballer. But he was being pimped way back in high school, so, for me, it’s like old now. I would venture to say he has been pimped more than all “Idol” contestants combined. In the whole, entire history of AI. Ever.

Oh, I do blame the media as well, G. But I figure Mr. James has a hand in things, too. I think it was a collaborative effort on “The Decision”. JMO.
He may be a great guy, I don’t know. But just as some folks felt Lauren Alaina was hyped too much for AI and that resulted in them disliking her, I guess I use the same (probably flawed) logic.
At the end of the day there is one fact: Lebron James and his $$$ don’t give a frak what I (or the city of Cleveland) think about him!
Bet he is not losing any sleep, huh?
