Lauren Alaina, Scotty McCreery, Haley Reinhart and James Durbin will be doing a concert for Microsoft at Lenox Square Mall at 4 p.m. Saturday, May 28.

I’m out of town and will miss this spectacle, which will be a zoo for sure. (Sorry for the lateness of this. Microsoft never sent me info about this. I saw it on MJ’s blog just moments ago.)

According to the special event Facebook page, there were only general admission tickets available at the store as of 4 p.m. today. The concert itself will take place in the North Lenox Square parking lot. Wish I could be there!

It’s to celebrate the opening of the Microsoft store at that mall. I can’t imagine how much Microsoft is paying for this!

Here’s more info:

There will be two entrance areas clearly marked, one for premier viewing and another for general admission. Camping or queuing up early is not encouraged. However, if you wish to wait in advance, there will be a designated area near each entrance. Only people who have official wristbands given out at the Microsoft Store at Lenox Square on Friday will be admitted into the performance space at 2PM on Saturday.

Glitter wristband: Admits one person (any age) into the premier viewing section for the performance and one person to meet the American Idols after the show.

Yellow wristband: Admits one person (any age) into the premier viewing section for the performance.

Green wristband: Admits one person (any age) into the general admission section for the performance.

There is more than enough room inside the performance space for the number of fans in attendance. The elevated stage provides ample viewing for everyone that has a wristband. The venue is standing room only

Why only the top 4. Will they have a band, sing with tracks?

I’ll be performing at the Apple Store at North Point Mall! No wrist band required, just a pulse.

I’ll also be appearing at Lenox Square on Saturday, at the Apple Store around 1:00 PM, buying a new iMac.

No fair, I want a Microsoft store. I’ll I get are Apple stores that ooze nothing but hipsters.

Anyone going? Of course, none of our regulars are under 17, so I’m going to assume no.

No Kresge means no Schreibmans at the Lenox shopping center and this is final for the last time so do not make me say it again and that includes my wife if she is listening and she usually is which is why I had the bedroom extension removed but do not get me or God forbid her started about that if you do not mind me asking please.

JT- I’m far removed from 17 but I might’ve checked this out if I had known anything about it. Wish the info had been passed to Rodney a heckuva lot sooner so I could have tried to score a wristband. Oh well, guess I’ll have to work in the yard instead. Boo! Hiss!

wish I could be there. I’m sure James Durbin will be FANTASTIC as usual – I would be there only for him and I guess Haley, too. She’s also pretty great.

Y’all sitting down? As I drove into Lenox, early, to check out the down pillows at Bloomies (on sale, first 30% off, then another 20%) I saw the commotion over at the valet parking lot where the Top 4 Idols will perform at 4 pm, and heard… and not unpleasant song vaft over the mall – by Haley!! When you don’t have to look at hear, she’s quite… ahem, enjoyable… to listen to!

Mercedes, while I’m incredibly impressed that you were able to move past your Haley hate and enjoy her singing, I’m baffled as to why you think she’s such an eyesore. She’s friggin’ gorgeous, and her good looks will only work to her advantage (just like they have for Carrie Underwood).

See this morning that Scotty’s “Love You This Big” is #1 on ITunes.

Lauren’s “Like my Mother Does” is #5. Fame sells music. Kristie Lee Cook didn’t do a lot with it on her album, but also sung it pretty well.

Kristie would have gone higher in the competition in her year, if she had been on America’s Top Model instead — there, she would have made the top 3.

Morning, and hope everybody has a good holiday.
Neg, as for “frigging gorgeous”, I’ll give you that Haley has good legs, which the AI audience could observe most weeks, and a decent bod… but frizzy hair and close-set eyes? Latter would come in handy at tennis, I s’pose.

Morning! Indy 500 today—-the only race I ever care to watch. Nothing against NASCAR, just never got into racing much but remember the Indy 500 from childhood.

Since Rodney skipped/missed the post-finale interviews for Scotty and Lauren, I went to USAToday’s Idol Chatter to read them. Some of it was just standard stuff but I found it amusing that they both deny any dating. Scotty even termed it a brother-sister relationship. LOL!

I have two sisters and they have never kissed me like Lauren did Scotty (thank goodness, there would have been a ruckus for sure) nor have I said “I love you, baby” like Scotty did to Lauren. It’s puppy love or a crush or whatever. They don’t need to deny it. It’s kinda cute and they should enjoy it while it lasts.

As a person whose hair turns into a large ball of frizz during the summer and whose eyes are not gorgeously far apart, I’m just a wee bit hurt by Mercedes’ comment. I think Haley is lovely, not gorgeous but pretty.

But I love America Ferrera, Nut! And if I have any syndrome, it’s NOT the one being prejudiced about frizzy-haired women with close-set eyes (true about their ability to hit tennis ball well, though; check out Bjorn Borg).

As for link to Top Four, I only saw the top three – how come no musical perf by James?

And D., I have seen pictures of you – no close set eyes there. Or frizz. Obviously pics taken during cool season??

Unexpected surprise when watching pre-race happenings for Indy 500: national anthem sung as duet by Kelly Clarkson and Seal, accompanied by David Foster on piano. They did a good job, too- go Kelly!

I don’t believe that it is catty, I’ve just noticed that some quantify that which can not be quantified. Measuring the face for beauty markers simply fails.

Morning!

I can hear the students grumbling all the way here in Georgia, Harriett. ;-)

There are so many truly beautiful people in the world, all so different, that any kind of physical measurement seems like a waste of time. How far is the upper lip from the nose, how widely spaced are the eyes….I’m pretty sure beauty cannot be judged by specifics but by an overall feeling when looking at someone or something.

LOL, Harriett. You mean to say that you find Tyler, um, unattractive or something????

And crude? Probably, but the audience always seemed to give him the loudest ovation. Reckon what that means?

Neg Haleysox

RxDawg, it’s commonplace to see talented, attractive women trigger words of jealousy and hate in insecure women. It’s a phobia as old as humanity, so don’t take it seriously. Smile, patronize, and move on.

Branch, I have read the article on ST in Rolling Stone. He’s beyond crude. Cannot imagine the rest of his book and what he says there. RS was way bad enough for me. It really has nothing to do with the image he portrays on Idol. Heaven forbid!

Rx, I cannot imagine how anyone would not say Haley is pretty. I think she also has a distinct style about her that the other women on the show lacked.

linny ,,,=^..^=,,,

May 30th, 2011
1:30 pm

I was a Haley fan from day one, but because of her jazz vocal styling, more than anything. i think she’s attractive — and she’ll do well if she can get, like esperanza, some following in the jazz-pop world. i think lauren is pretty, for a 16 year old, but she will have to watch her calories, as she seems prone to being a larger girl, which by the way, is NOT a bad thing. just an observation. but i’d hate to see her down to a size zero, whatever that is, because she’d look funny too skinny! if she at scottie stick together, they can be the new “jack sprat and his wife”… and again, not dissin’ them, i think they’re both cute as a button and talented to boot. just observin’

james will probably get a spot in some screaming metal style band and do just fine. and kudos to him for overcoming a really difficult syndrome; i’m proud of ANYone who has to overcome adversity to achieve, and he’s done that.

i also think casey will do well in a jazz-oriented world. jacob, not so much. in any world. sorry, just never liked him, from day 1.

and i loved the comment a couple of blogs back about the kids that sent scottie packing because he couldn’t fit in with what’s-his-name’s thoughts on what a singer should sound like ….**SNICKER**

I, of course, think Haley is pretty anyway she looks. However, the one or two times she had straight hair she was especially pretty. She just wore it so well. JMO.
