I think I’ll just stay in the ol’ slow, need to refresh, blog tonight. The coveritlive is too distracting for me. I pay more attention to it than I do the singers. Apparently my brain no longer functions on as high a level as it used to function.

D. I think I might join you. We may have the same problem. Coveritlive is great when I can’t get to a TV, not so great when I can watch live.

Anyone here plan to watch the “musical” Grey’s Anatomy tomorrow night? Might bring me back for the first time in ages.

I still enjoy Grey’s. This year has been lively and interesting. I’ll watch the musical episode as soon as I get back from San Jose.

Scotty picked the best possible EJ song for himself…and again, he does a nice job…the “love you, grandma” won’t hurt him either.

She will get criticized for this, but I like it.

I kinda liked Naima tonight. Her voice won’t take her any farther than the chorus of a Broadway show but that wasn’t too bad. The raggae wasn’t all that good

I’m huge roots reggae fan and she KILLED it. That will be a huge hit in Jamacia

The I Three, Ben? I kept thinking that. I actually loved this performance for Naima.

Well she is no Judy Mowatt, but it was good.
Deirdre

I agree that she did a good job…not sure the raggae is going to work with this audience, unfortunately
bettyd
March 30th, 2011
8:28 pm
Naima sounded out of breath to me, which made some of her voice shallow. She also made up the Jamacan accent, which I thought was odd. Her performance stage presents was great as usual, though

Paul and Rocket Man…omg!

Ben Lurkin

Paul= OK until the refrain. Better than last week
Deirdre
March 30th, 2011
8:33 pm
Well, it wasn’t awful. I don’t like his voice. I get what he’s trying to do…I get the style he’s trying to evoke…I just don’t get him

I think I may have just joined the Pia train. IMO, that’s the best she’s done so far

LOL….Pepsi Moment! That was pretty funny, especially when Ryan reminded him Coke is a sponsor!
Deirdre

Absolutely nothing wrong with the scream…perfectly pitched and suited the song.
Deirdre
March 30th, 2011
9:16 pm
Well..the Pepsi moment to which he refers was not a good thing
Ben Lurkin

Ok, I stand corrected on the scream….(But I didn’t like it)
dondee

No, not saying THAT Pepsi moment was funny…..just that he makes that reference and Co Cola is a big time sponsor of the show….that’s all……

Thia is singing Daniel Could be good but she’s so unemotional that she may ruin the song

Did not connect emotional with the song at all. D, lack of emotion is going to kill her.
Deirdre
March 30th, 2011

dondee…that’s what I meant…it doesn’t hurt Coke for him to mention a bad moment in Pepsi’s history. I wonder how the powers that be at Coke will react.

Probably the purest voice in the competition. If she had waited for a couple years, Wow
Deirdre
March 30th, 2011
9:26 pm
I thought it was her best performance so far. She’s still not old enough? experienced enough? to know what she’s singing but this is the first time I’ve seen a genuine effort from her to connect with the song instead of just making it sound pretty.
