Thia sucked. She’s just to young, she has a great voice though but no stage presence. Let’s hear it for my sistah Ms Jacob Lusk. Girlfriend belted it out. Gay boys are representing this year again.

Lauren way better than last week. Good song for her. She definitely should stay over Thia.

First two notes and I already hate this song with Stefano. I don’t consider “Hello” Motown. Terrible.

AI Knows how to get people to watch the whoe two hours, they never have all the best singers sing first. Haley, bad song. I think she has a good voice but she will be in the bottom three. I hope thia goes before her. I like her shoes though.

Scotty, At first I thought it was going to be good but…………….ahhh no. He should have made it even more country. Bad song choice.

Hmmm.....

Way to go Scotty! He really did an awesome job with this song…..Never thought of it as country!

Scotty is still fantastic though. Tough to make A MOTOWN SONG WORK WITH HIS VOICE BUT HE DID A PRETTY GOOD JOB.

YES!!!! J-LO gets it!!!! Pia is missing the emotional connection to the song.

Kiki D

March 23rd, 2011

It’s like this…if I want to hear slow ballads, I’ll go and hear a REAL professional in that genre in Celine or Barbara. Pia is over-rated and is quickly becoming stale with her predictability. love snow crab legs but I don’t want them EVERYDAY!

Paul has great teeth and I would definitely do him but I don’t think this is the stage for him. Something weird about him. He needs to just be singing around a camp fire on the beach. Other than that I think he is a bit awkward.

I confess – to me Paul is at best a minimal talent, novelty singer. He has very little real vocal talent and is really irritating. I hope he is at the bottom of the bottom three.

Kiki D

March 23rd, 2011
9:37 pm

well that was the best I’ve seen Paul..he needs to stop dancing around like Peter Pan’s fairy princess and keep his feet planted as he did. No Rod Stewart comparison at all so please don’t anyone say he is similar…he’s not. Still not sold on his sound because he can afflict too much helium in his voice at times but much better than previous weeks.

Rich Black

and he has that same thing going with his hair trying to cover his balddness that David cook did. Just let it go.

Candy…you didn’t miss a thing….Jacob did the same ole, same ole in spite of props from the judges. Just not a big fan of his sound. I looked away just so I could concentrate on the voice and it is NOT a voice I would want to hear 12 times in a row on downloads!

not a big Jacob fan but I kinda liked him tonight because he didn’t scream and run from note one. yep the ballads are beginning to bore but Pia can SANG! I think Lauren did a great job too. I do miss Simon though.

Pretty good show tonight, with some good solid performances – not really sure who should or will go – all of the performances were decent, none I really hated, but for me no real standouts either. Pia is really good, but Randy was right, she is becoming a little too precictable with those ballads. If she doesn’t start changing it up, I can see danger ahead for her, because becoming too predictable is the kiss of death on Idol.

Squirelly…same thing here! grrrr…lightening strike at the end of Naima’s song so I had to play back my DVR to hear the judges comments and to hear James. Rich…thanks for letting us know how you really feel! :-) We don’t get many man-crushes here. Deirdre…we differ on our ears! We should probably both get hearing aides.

joel…you are absolutely right. None of the performances tonight were wretched. Way better than last year and I have to say it….the absence of Karen and Simon has elevated American Idol to previous seasons glories.

I sincerely believe in Thia’s voice, however, I do believe her niche will be in Disney, or behind the scenes! I really think that one of the best performances tonight was smack dab in the middle with Stefano (i did feel that his and Scotty’s song choices) where the most difficult and much more of a stretch to sing than others’ songs. Stefano really had a good sound and solid quality to his voice and I did feel him singing ,except it was a song about a couple that went seperate ways and he wishes they could give it another chance feel and not the love letter, you don’t know who i am but iI admire you from afar! Rodney is still in it to win it! Scotty is such a cutie and will have an amazing career…that’s about it fingers crossed for Stefano

Kiki D

@ me…the problem with Stefano was not his vocals, he did not connect to the emotions of the song. It was pretty much punchy and unemotional one minute into the song all the way to the end. I did not hear regret or sadness in his vocals..should have been more breathy and thought provoking at times. If he was a dude trying to reach out to me, I certainly wouldn’t feel his pain or loneliness with this delivery.

WOW! What a smoking show! I’m torn. There really were no horrible performances and I think that’s gota be a first on Idol ever with this many people still in the competition. Every show should be like that. I honestly have no idea who’s going home. I would like to hear Hailey again next week (I still think she’s on the cusp of greatness). Heck, even Paul didn’t stink. But if I had to guess at someone on the way out, I’d say Naima.

The best? Who knows, I’ll say Casey (just because I’m a fan), Jacob (and I’m not a fan usually), and James. I’m not saying Pia because it’s time to end the ballads.

Like everyone elses, this year’s talent is exceptional. There are three who can go ahead and fall out, and then the real contest begins. I think many of them have their own corner carved out, but the winner will be one who can pick up the voters for those who get voted off. For example, Naima’s voters won’t go to Scotty, and James won’t pick up Thia’s votes. I know Naima is different, but seriously, there is too much ethnic thing going on. It is going to alienate some voters. I’m not trying to degrade the appreciation of the culture, but it was a little voodoo tonight… But she is her own person and singer, and I can appreciate that. My favorite is Lauren and Jacob. Lauren will go far because she will pick up other’s voters.

James, Jacob & Casey were great! I like Thia Megia’s performance tonight.. she did some grooves & still her voice was solid.. she’s great with Jazzy uptempo songs.. Worst performance…for me its Stefano! he definitely messed up. And what’s with the accent on the “i love u..i love u,,” part. He should definitely go home.
Bottom 3: Stefano, Hailey, Naima Going Home: Stefanooo…

Naima Adedapo is a dancer with Ko-Thi, an Afri-centric dance company, and sings with her husband in R.A.S. Movement, a reggae and world beat band. Naima alled Crossfit Cali Band. Naima is the daughter of Milwaukee area jazz singer Adekola Adedapo.Naima graduated high school from St. Joan Antida and majored in Dance at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee She graduated with high honors
Not much is said about her however, she has an unusual backround I think She is more of A dancer

Is it just me or is anyone else SO OVER the pathetic, misplaced “ethnic dance outbursts” of Naima during EVERY SINGLE so-called “performance” of her substandard vocals. Enough is enough!! We get it about your ethnicity, Naima! BUT, we’re color blind to ethnicity – and silly diversionary tactics – when the REAL PURPOSE of the competition is to judge deserving TRUE TALENT. Get with the vocal program, bag the “Ethnic Princess” routine and either be moved forward or get cut based on your ability to SING & perform like the rest of the contestants. Otherwise, find yourself a job as a back-up dancer or singer and get your over-the-top ya-yas out some kind of way outside Idol.
