Early favorite Casey Abrams was rushed to a hospital yesterday for stomach pains, according to TMZ.
If he isn’t ready to perform Friday, he could be eliminated though the local Fox affiliate below reports he should be out today.
The talented 19 year old Idyllwild, Calif. singer who could also play stand-up bass was ranked No. 1 by a huge margin among blog readers here Monday. His early departure would be a huge blow to the show. Let’s hope and pray for his quick recovery and that whatever it is is not serious.

I’m sure they’re doing everything they can to make sure Casey can continue. since the performance is taped, they may even give him an extra day or 2 to recover , then tape him over the weekend.
BTW, a reminder to all the blogsters…..Idol will be on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday next week!

I would hope he made it, your queenness. But with some of the judges decisions last night… who knows?
If I were a judge:
I would not have put though Edemame Oingobongo.
I would have put through Holly Cavanaugh over Haley Reinhart.
Karaoke Klint wouldn’t have made it through Hollywood
Paul MacDonald would have gone home early.
I agreed with the judges on on the rest of them.

And who would have ever thought that Ashley Sullivan would have handled being cut prior to the top 24 better than J-Lo would handle the cutting?

I very much dislike Clint Jun(e) Gamboa. His ego and annoying black wannabe sound is going to work every last nerve I have. No way he should have stayed over Chris Medina. Chris was fresh, quirky, funny and entertaining with a wide range of sound. I see Jun(e) sounding the same every frickin week. And as the weeks and his head get bigger, he will begin to flame bigger and brighter thinking he some kind of kindred spirit with Lady Gaga…NOT!

Hey, good morning, everyone! I completely missed the blogging last night. I had to attend a meeting/reception after work, got in around 7:45, turned on my computer, went to the couch to wait for 8 PM to come around, then found myself waking up at 9 PM!! I was waaaay behind everyone blogging so just turned the computer off and did the fast-forward with the DVR, enjoying the show in its entirety. But, I missed my blog buddies and the comments. I was imagining what you were saying as I was watching.
I was pleasantly surprised by Tim Halprin. And, I thought the show rocked last night. Agree with D–best Green Mile show EVER.

I was so impressed with last nights show. There seems to be so much talent this year over several past years. Whoever made the changes, producers, judges, etc…I THANK YOU. Should be the most enjoyable season in a long time.
The only complaint I have is that at times, it moved so fast it was tuff keeping up with who was staying or going.

Agree with above poster, “best green mile ever”. Except for the stupy approval of Karaoke Boy, of course. What a creep. His behavior re Chubby Boy will not be forgotten
What I love about the judges this year is their cohesiveness.

Mercedes, I believe Rodney called Clint’s (karaoke boy) performance “overwrought,” which will definitely get old with the public, should he make it to the voting rounds. He did himself in with me, too, when he was mean to Jacee. I really liked Stefano and look forward to his performance tonight. I did like Naima.

D, I completely agree about the Tim guy. He sounded like a complete pro to me.
I’m so loving this year! I truly was close to giving up on Idol after the garbage we had last year, not to even mention the winner!? But I’m glad I came back. I feel like I’m going to be torn about who I like this year… and that’s a great thing.

Oh and I said this on the other blog, but I’ll repeat it here…
I like Medina, whou couldn’t? But he simply wasn’t good enough. Even when they showed him singing the Coldplay song I knew he just didn’t have it. At the end of the day, this is a talent competition, not a tear jerk one.

I peeked on the 24 list, and am mostly happy, although the wrong cowboy got in…my male favorite is in and all my three girls… I’m happy with the choices. Large Latino crowd; fun.

Oh man! I really hope Casey is all right! He´s my fave.
AI 10 would blow without him. Pls have him stay and tape him during the weekend or even Monday. He deserves to stay. I am praying he recovers quickly.
Get well Casey!

Yes. Next week: 90 minute all male top 12 show on Tuesday (8 to 9:30), all female top 12 show on Wednesday (again 8 to 9:30), then a TWO hour results show Thursday (8 to 10. Why a two-hour results show? Well, that’s Fox for ya! Five hours of Idol. That’s even too much for me!

The long hours of Idol next week will be a good thing… this once. We will finally know who all we are working with here. So far we’ve just seen little bits from a selected few. That Tim guy last night was a nice surprise that I haven’t seen anything from so far. Next week we will know a lot more than we do now.

With the switch of threads, I forgot to say, any poor kid not at all versed in Beatles music didn’t have a very good upbringing. And it truly is impossible to “never have heard a Beatles song in my life” – on par with being illiterate as far as I’m concerned! Poor parenting!

With the exception of a few excellent talents like this Abrams kid (who is incredible), most of the contestants look like strippers and hookers. Once again, Idol auditions looked promising, but when it came down to the actual cuts, they picked eye candy. Superficial.

Seriously? Eye Candy? Brett Loewenstern is eye candy over Colton?
Jun Bug?
Thia over that rocker chic?
I would agreed with your point for some contestants, but certainly not all.
I think we could all be surprised. I really like Jordan, Pia, Lauren A. so far. I don’t get Casey, Jun Bug or Rusk, but I’ll keep an open mind.
I think this top 24 have more stage presence than any previous season. I think stressing confidence played a bigger part in decisions and that’s a good thing.

I, too, seem to be more interested in this year’s A.I. Appears to be more male talent this year. My top 3 picks are Casey Abrams (obvious)and I predict him to win by a landslide, Naima Adedapo, & Jacob Lusk.
As for Chris Medina…his story stole the heart of America…including mine. He “almost” has the voice, so I forsee someone with the show, whether it be one or all of the judges, or someone out in t.v. land watching the show connected to the music industry getting him formal training and seeing that he “makes it” somehow, somewhere. He certainly deserves it! And watch Casey go all the way!!!!!! GO CASEY GO!!!!!!

Friendly tone here: Typical response from your generation Pen – who I’ll assume is younger. You did not read the comment. I wrote with a “few exceptions.” Some of the females were not the best singers (they sound very generic and not distinctive) but got the edge because they had high hems and low cut tops. If you couldn’t see that you are probably used to the tacky way females dress now. If you have talent you don’t need the cleavage. Everything is so low class. And no I am not unattractive, bitter or frumpy. And yes, I can sing and play the piano at the advanced level (not just technically but artistically). Idol is enjoyable but these days so many artists are just manufactured copycats. Abrams is special but my goodness where were his crotch gripping lycra pants? Do you get the point? Maybe not. His talent was enough. That’s why someone like him is a stand out.

Mine is a general vent about the music industry in general. As you can assume I think Gaga is highly overrated. Tacky and gross.
