A crowd of about 10,000 people wraps around the Bridgestone Arena as contestants wait in line early Thursday morning, July 15, 2010 to sign up for the American Idol 10th season auditions that will take place on Saturday in Nashville, Tenn. (AP Photo/Christopher Berkey)
Nashville auditions are set for Thursday from 8 to 9 p.m.
Fox sent us some Nashville teasers this afternoon. Enjoy!
Here’s a dude doing “Happy Birthday” in Italian. Don’t ask:
You probably won’t a kick out of this one:
This gal doesn’t have quite the look but she isn’t that bad vocally:
And this is a rarity: a duet!

Int, I keep telling you–go back to some of the archives and read a bit. It won’t take you long to get to know a lot about all of us. We talk family and dogs and cats and I don’t know what all around here, and we share a lot of what goes on in our lives this way. It will catch you up!
And, Mercedes, unfortunately Lawrence Beaman lost out to a hick “singer” with a guitar who worked as a chicken catcher. The runner-up to him was a supremely talented opera soprano. I, for one, was sick about Beaman and sick about the winner that year, too.

Wait, you are bemoaning the defeat of someone on a non-American-Idol show, ignoring last seasons results? Not just the last guy either, but the whole thing. I mean the fact that the dictator of North Korea was in the top 10 tells you how wrong last season went.

For all you Big Ben haters from the last thread:
In the Colorado case, the “victim” turned out to be a whacko who decided to cry rape later and was discredited.
In the Milledgeville case, I perfectly understand your whole guilty until proven innocent attitude! Not! If the prosecutor thought a crime had been committed and had the evidence to prove it, he should have brought the case. That’s his job. The fact that he did not tells me that things didn’t go down quite as reported OR the prosecutor didn’t have the balls to try a case he might lose. …And that speaks more to his (the D.A.’s) character!
Deirdre

The only reason I heard that the prosecutor didn’t bring it to court was a he said/she said situation. The authorities had no doubt that the girl was telling the truth but couldn’t prove it in court. Doesn’t mean it didn’t happen……doesn’t mean that Big Ben didn’t go to Milledgeville trolling for college girls.

Highlander, let me give you the facts: the future victim, 18, was falling down drunk and she was hustled into the men’s room by Roethweiler’s goons. Her girlfriends tried to go in and get her but the goons prevented it.
Happy? PS: I also know the DA, Fred Bright, and he was too politically savvy to fight a battle he couldn’t win but he was disgusted with the situation, I can guarantee you.
I’m surprised to hear that kind of comment from you.

“the media attention had become intrusive”
And that is what is wrong with this whole situation. Maybe if people, most of the people involved, cared for someone other than just themselves, the situtation could have had a different ending. Or at the very least the next situation could have been prevented (if there is one).

Rosita, the system is not perfect, but it is the way that it is for a reason, to protect the innocent. I’m not saying he is innocent, I’m not saying that he isn’t an idiot, I’m not saying that anything he did was right in any way, shape, or form. However, if there wasn’t enough evidence that a crime had been committed, is it really right to burn someone at the stake… or ship him off to a camp without a trial, if we want to use a prior analogy? Our system works because even the disgusting monsters among us are afforded certain rights.
It doesn’t work the way we want it all the time, but then there are also people who would like to see it not work even for the innocent. In my opinion it’s far better to protect the innocent and let a few of the guilty slip through than to go with the alternative.

Basically there’s no proof. I think the guy is a king sized azzh*le for even going after a college girl. He was also suspended by the NFL for his behavior. Whatever happened or didn’t happen, he shouldn’t have been there in the first place. He was looking for easy pickings and he even had an off-duty cop(all googoo eyed over the big star) helping him troll. The cop at least admits to that much
