Joe’s Place, the home for spoilers, said “Idol” will bring the 240-plus finalists to Hollywood on Dec. 6 and pare them down over 11 days, far longer than the past.
Competition starts Dec. 7 in Pasadena. Half will perform Dec. 7 and half on Dec. 8. Over the next four days or so, he believes “Idol” will get it down to 45 to 50 people. Those folks will get the “package” and we will eventually get to vote (perhaps online) for them and help pare down the top 12.
There is still no evidence that “Idol’ will limit voting in any way (which I would be for) but I’m certainly going to ask Nigel or anybody of authority first chance I get.
And here are some new “Idol” promos:
These two feature likely Hollywood-bound contestants. Good sign: none of these folks are singing “over-done” songs. All good voices, for sure. Any real stars? Too soon to tell.
MJ also got stats that Carrie Underwood earned $1 million at the Hollywood Bowl. Wow!

“Mama’s Song” was spun 6,337 times from Nov. 26-Dec. 2, up only 118 spins week over week. She holds at No. 8 (and No. 7 in weighted airplay).
