Jennifer Lopez among Barbara Walters’ ‘Most Fascinating People of 2010′

jennifer_lopez_pearl_necklace

Jennifer Lopez inexplicably made the list of Barbara Walters’ “Most Fascinating People of 2010.” I never found even the most fascinating person of May, 2002. But alas, she is an “Idol” judge now and that’s a worthy topic of conversation.

She joins the likes of Justin Bieber (yes, the boy is with us always!), Betty White (alas, she is too with us always!), LeBron James, Sarah Palin and Sandra Bullock. Oh, and the cast members of “Jersey Shore.”

Otherwise, a very quiet day on “Idol” land.

I get them all more than the “cast members of ‘Jersey Shore’”

The only person there that I find remotely fascinating is Betty White. I’m looking forward to J.Lo the judge, but that is not fascinating.

This is Barbara Walter’s version of fascinating…otherwise known as “pop culture popular”

I don’t get the cast of Jersey Shore PERIOD.

Of course.. Barbara is fascinated by the whole “Mentos in a 2-liter bottle of diet coke” thing… so it figures.

I’m more fascinated by the “Mentos in a 2 liter” thing than I am by the list of people above.

I only have one oven, but I’ve been up since 4:00 this morning. My freezer is the main thing going for me. I freeze most everything I bake and take out as needed. Some of the cookies I don’t freeze. Christmas Day, the kids, and grandchildren help themselves to their favorites and take leave with the sweets.

Oops. I did not realize we had a new thread. Will repost from the previous one:

I brought most of my Christmas CDs back to work with me and am listening now. I do this each year–play the music in the background of each day. Lifts my spirits! Two songs always touch my heart–Roy Orbison’s version of “Pretty Paper,” and Alabama’s “Christmas in Dixie.”

Sam-A, I don’t think The Event is going anywhere. I read this morning where it was a huge hit and would be around awhile. Love that show!

Now for JTesla’s list of fascinating people 2010 edition: Staff Sergeant Salvatore Giunta, he was only awarded the Medal of Honor! Hello! Internationally I look to: Liu Xiaobo, a Nobel Peace Prize is not too shabby most of the time, and then there is the spawn of Kim Jong il. If we must delve into pop culture, we’ll keep Betty White, and how about Christina Hendricks! And finally some people in politics: The cute not-a-witch O’Donnell lady, Obama, and Rand Paul.

I knew that I would leave someone off, with the release of his recent book: George Bush. And finally, since this is an Idol Blog: Nigel for revamping the brand, and Steven Tyler, because even though he may prove himself to be a train wreck once the season starts, he’s a heck of a lot more interesting than those other two clowns that they have judging.

I knew the day would come when Barbara ran out of fascinating people…but now? All kinds of weird people out there – the albino wikileaks leaker, the facebook billionaire guy, Michelle Rhee, who got fired for cleaning up the deeply troubled school system in D.C., JT”s people, etc.

Thanks Harriet!

Back from 9 wonderful computer-free days! Sure is hard to catch up here. Sounds like most had a good T-giving holiday, and most of the ailing critters, human or hairy are at the very least doing better than before, so there’s something to really be thankful for! The first few days were nice and smooth, then, as always the loonies came out with the McPhee stuff.

Love Harry P – seen it twice. Of course, had to keep my hand over my eyes during the Nagini stuff (snakes, UGH!). They did a pretty good job with a lot of material, but I’d have taken another 10-15 mins, and been a bit more explanatory in several places. Can’t wait for the next one, no matter how bittersweet it will be.

Glad Jennifer G won Dancing. She was wonderful, and really powered thru a couple very serious-sounding injuries!

Haven’t seen “Walking Dead”, but saw the name when flipping thru the guide and wondered what it was.
Changing days for tv shows usually ends up disasterously – may be the final blow to Idol.

Now, 3 months without “Event” – and some buzz that it may not return at all, or show only those shows already filmed then end it. On the bright side (for me at least) it ends just in time for “The Closer”’s return (I would definitely watch Brenda over “Closer”, but of course it would be DVR’s).

Now, gotta get ready for Christmas!

In the first place, Baba Wawa’s “most fascinating people” is about the LAST thing that I find even vaguely interesting. I mean…. REALLY?… she herself is so freaking boring that a checkers game between two eighty-something year old men would be “fascinating” fare. Sheesh. Sorry Rodney. I know it’s REMOTELY AI-related but ….. triple gazillion size yawn here. ***head still shaking in disbelief***

so. Hi everyone. Rick, i’ve been recording EVENT but haven’t had time to watch them all yet… but it’s “on demand” too, so you could catch it that way if you have cable. at least a few of the later episodes are still on there, i believe.

“fringe” is my “lost” this year and i’m having a little trouble following some of it. sigh. will there ever be a show as addicting as lost, lol? i dunno, but you can be sure that they’re trying hard to find something equally fascinating and confusing! what’s that one that “charlie” from lost is on, hard to decide if he’s a villain or a good guy… my mind is blanking now…

i’d rather watch Eureka and Warehouse 13, anyway… they’re fun.

i’m rambling, cuz i rarely manage to get the computer this time of day!

hope all had a lovely Thanksgiving weekend. I’ve sworn off the word “holiday” (except to make this announcement) this year… i will gladly wish anyone their respective appropriate greeting, and to those who don’t believe in anything except maybe government, they can HAVE their little “H-word” all they want. except i think they forget that the H-word is a derivation of the TWO words “holy day”… i always snicker when someone makes a point of being PC and saying Happy H-word…. like *snort, you idiot, don’t you even know what you just said?”

Good Morning.

What a dreadful day this is going to be!!! Foggy, wet, but warm. A good day to curl up with a good book, with a throw over your legs and your doggies surrounding you. Aaahhhhhhh, peaceful day!!

Memory’s checkup yesterday was good. The vet was amazed at her recovery in just two weeks. She has regained control of most of her bodily functions, legs and muscles are stronger. She still isn’t out of the woods, but is much better. She seems to be free of any pain, so no more pain meds, just the steroids. Take her back in three weeks and hopefully, the vet will discharge her and let her resume her normal activities.

Hey linny, it’s good to see you here and rambling. We miss you and wished you where here daily. However, we will take what we can get and when you can join us.

What I like about linny’s rambling… there’s a clear line of clever thought running through it!

For the fantasiacs among us: there’s a Mayor’s Ball in Atlanta on Dec 18, and the entertainment will be Fantasia. It will cost you, though, $500.00 a ticket.

Here we go again being accused of hating!!!! Won’t these people ever grow up?

What would really be nice, is if these people who think we are haters would first learn how to have a conversation using proper grammar and punctuation. They mustn’t have done to well in English class.
