Simon Cowell teases his replacement Steven Tyler

Simon Cowell made a joke about Steven Tyler before the Founders Awards at the International Emmy Awards in New York on Monday night.

“I always said it had to be someone who wasn’t better looking than me and they achieved it.”

He also heard from Randy Jackson that Tyler is a nice guy. Otherwise, Cowell didn’t make any snide remarks about “Idol” from what I can tell.

- Radar Online, the somewhat reliable gossip site, said Fantasia testified during divorce proceedings for Antwaun Cook that she had an abortion around the time of her suicide attempt in August.

- Last night, I  forgot to tape the “E! True Hollywood Story” featuring Adam  Lambert. EW posted the top 10 moments. I definitely plan to see it later during a repeat.

7. Adam giving us too much information, but using humor to make it totally inoffensive: “I lost my virginity at 21, and it was to a man — not a woman. And it wasn’t very good.” [Laughs.] “Sometimes it takes a little while to learn how to do that correctly.” [Bigger laugh.]

-After promising a 30 minute results show, Fox went back to one hour. Oh, well. Here’s Mike Darnell, head of reality programming, and his justification to EW:

“That timeslot looks ripe, it’s the right moment,” explains Darnell, who also goes onto explain why Fox abandoned the idea of airing a 30-minute results show. “If you are going to attack Thursdays, you need to attack it with your biggest piece because that’s the only way anyone has ever won on that night. And if you are going to make this move, you have to have an hour show. You can’t go in with a half hour. The new format and the things happening with the show are going to make that hour make much more sense.”

-Daily Carrie Underwood “Mama’s Song” Mediabase 24/7 update: She breaks 5,900 spins for the first time (5,908 for the week of Nov. 16-22 vs. 5,627 for Nov. 9-15.) She remains at No. 11 and No. 9 when weighted for audience. She is still showing upward momentum though 13 songs are moving up the charts faster.

-Speaking of Carrie, if you have a few bucks to spare for charity and want to fly up to Ottawa, well, here’s your chance to have dinner with her and her husband Mike  Fisher. Opening bid: $7,500. More details here.

-Joe’s Place is back with spoilers though at this stage, it’s way too early for me to care.

Is Steven Simon’s replacement or is JLo?

Adam “Sometimes it takes a little while to learn how to do that correctly” umm is that something you share? Something that anyone shares? Ever? Where is Rickster when you need him (yes I know where he is), he would love a blog on that.

The blessing that we had been hoping for happened today. The second surgery for my Grandson Porter is not needed at least not for the near future and I and the Doctors feel like it will never have to be performed. Nothing but good reports from the neonatologist and nuerosurgeon. He will have to have another surgery in about 6 months to remove the first device they implanted but that should be a breeze compared to the surgery they were thinking would be needed. Thank you for all the prayers and please keep them coming. Thank you GOD for answering them!

With an hour long results show???? That the best they’ve got?????

Thanks everyone. He is a little fighter. They first said he only had a one in five chance of not needing the surgery. Thank GOD he was the ONE!

DWT STARS??? I don’t think so!
Who the pluperfect hell is Kyle Massey? Nevah hoid of im.
Bristol Palin, a star? Spelled backwards maybe.
Jennifer, ok, once upon a time and she can flat shake her moneymaker for an old broad, but
CHANGE THE NAME OF THE SHOW ALREADY.

Thanks, Alsetj. . .
Well, that was a yawner. . . Turkey day came on Tuesday night this year.
They need to name it Dancing With The Wannabes, Whodats and Hasbeens
(sorry, Jennifer, I AM glad you won but your face is still shiny from that nose job)

As for the nose job, Rosita, each time I saw Jennifer’s face in a closeup it made me think of “Pet Sematary”, the Stephen King thriller. Beloved dead things were buried in a sketchy place, in the the hope that they would “come back”, And they did, but they weren’t quite the same as before.

And while many people believe that the altered nose ruined Jennifer Grey’s career ( the “Dirty Dancing” nose was much cuter), I seem to remember it was the car accident on Ireland that stopped her career. Her then boyfriend Mathew Broderick drove on the wrong side of the road and killed two people. It affected Jennifer physically and mentally. So glad for her to win.

Glad to hear about Porter, KPH. We’ll keep the good thoughts going.

Adam: too much info, man. Keep that stuff to yourself, okay?

Rodney, my dear friend: could you bankroll me so I can bid on the Carrie dinner? I’d like to bid around $20,000 or so if you could spare it. LOL!

Morning!

I guess something got deleted last night cuz I can’t make heads nor tails of what JT and Rosita said.

Well, I have to tell you that I’m a little angry. Idol fraks up on its winner this year and DWTS gets it right. Where’s the justice????

Seriously, I’m happy that Jennifer won…she is absolutely the best dancer. I also thought Kyle and Bristol did very well last night…and after watching the montage where, somewhere stuck in the middle, Brandi turns into a real b*tch, I’m not at all surprised that she got eliminated.

Good Morning, and goodbye…about two join my 40 mill fellow Americans setting out on their Thansgiving pilgrimage.

Quickly, though, “Tangled’ is an absolute dekight I can’t wait to see again. Best Disney animation since “Beauty and the Beast” and the wickedest stepmom ever!

“Burlesque” provides a nice power ballad scene for Cher, who co-stars as a clucky mother hen. But movie is all Christina Aguilera, all the way through. Beware, though., it’s a “clean” movie about burlesque, with no naughty bits whatsoever (???)

Bye, Mercedes, and good morning everyone else. I am at my desk until the powers that be decide late in the day to let us go early. It is very lax around here today–skeleton crew in jeans, etc. I have on my Carolina sweatshirt, anticipating our game on Saturday. I will be composing my annual Thanksgiving email later, too. That’s about as exciting as it is going to get today for me.

Hey Gang!!!

Just home home last night after spending a few days at my dad’s. He and his lovely bride had a beautiful wedding this past Saturday and we got them off on their honeymoon. and I stayed to get the house settled for them. Imagine a 94 and 90 year old getting married. I will have to tell more about it later today.

Thank God for the report on little Porter!!!! KPH, our prayers will continue for as long as they are needed.

Have errands to run this morning, but I will be back later today,

Nana’s back, turkeys are brining . . . all’s right with the world! Happy Thanksgiving, everyone.
Guess I went off on a bit of a rant last night but. . . I hadn’t ever watched DWTS until the finale and, what a letdown. I had forgotten about that accident with Matthew Broderick, though . . . Thanks for the reminder, Mercedes. The original nose was much cuter but maybe she didn’t have a choice. Was that old guy in the audience her father, Joel? Long way since Cabaret!
Everybody be safe, well and thankful!

Welcome back Nana and congrats to your dad and his new bride. Yes, I can imagine a 94 year old and a 90 year old getting married…it’s imagining the honeymoon that’s giving me some trouble. ;-)

I’m just hanging out at home with Mr Atlanta. Hubby is in Germany at the moment but will be home in time for a late turkey dinner tomorrow.

Mr Silicon Valley is sitting in a hotel with his lovely wife waiting for their furniture to arrive from Boston. Not the best Thanksgiving for them but they are happy to be in California.

VFTW received an anonymous tip about Idol’s next season. This may be nothing but it’s worth printing just in case it’s something:

Apparently, 242 people have received golden tickets to Hollywood. The Hollywood episodes are supposed to feature Q and A sessions and workshops so the viewers will get to know the contestants. 40-50 contestants will be featured prominently in the episodes, and viewers will be able to vote via online ballot for their favorites. The 12 highest vote getters will advance, with 3 more contestants advancing to the top 15 via a wildcard with Jimmy Iovine and the judges.

Welcome back, Nana and congrats to your dad and his new bride. I only hope I can see 90 and beyond. Can’t imagine getting hitched at that age, though.

“Idol” certainly is undergoing quite the makeover, isn’t it? Hope it all works well and the talent is better.

Is Woodpappy really Santa Claus with all his wood shop activities???

Happy Turkey Day Eve and safe travels to all bloggers/families over the next few days!

LOL!!!! When will Kanye West learn to keep his big mouth shut? Now he’s claiming that Taylor Swift is famous because of him:

Taylor never came to my defense at any interview,” West ranted. “And rode the waves and rode it and rode it,” he sniped of Swift.

Kanye is right she was standing on that stage giving an acceptance speech because she won an award for being the least known person on the planet. Speaking of that, I saw some recent pictures of Taylor, hair straightened, glamorous dress, JTesla approves.

Taking a short break from cooking and thought I would sneak-a-peek to see what is going on.

If i don’t get another chance to tell all of you Happy Thanksgiving, I will do so now. So, have a great Thanksgiving and as always, please be safe on the roads if you are traveling. Some of you regulars may recall that two years ago tomorrow my brother was killed in an accident, so Thanksgiving is bittersweet to me but I try to make it a happy occassion. It’s hard, but his memories keep me grounded. So please please be safe and careful. Your families and friends want you back again next Thanksgiving.

Okay, my oven buzzer just went off telling me my pecan pies are ready to come out, so gotta run.
