Carrie Underwood headlining tour at Gwinnett Arena Oct. 27

I’ll hold off on the Carly Smithson interview – in which she didn’t get as snippy with me as she did with the Tacoma reporter when I dared mention that OTHER band. “I’m part of We are the Fallen,” she said, a couple of times. End of story. It might get more of a traffic bang tomorrow.

Carrie Underwood on tour

Anyway, Carrie Underwood is coming back to Duluth at the Gwinnett Arena October 27. Billy Currington is one of her openers. Tickets went on sale Saturday. Prices on Ticketmaster are $35.50 to $55.50, not too bad.

The $55.50 seats are already gone. I was able to get some pretty mediocre $45.50 seats (with $10.30 convenience charge) on Ticketmaster. There are $35.50 seats available, too.

- Is Crystal Bowersox acting a wee bit too defensive with her Tweets? She didn’t take kindly to the TMZ story implying she wanted to quit. And now she’s addressing her “haters.”

Crystal Bowersox: Hey now! There’s no room for hate on this page! I’d hug everyone of ya if I could, naysayers, too! Please don’t bash my fellow contestants. We’re all putting our hearts into this. Sometimes the hardest thing to do in life is to greet negativity with positivity. Thanks for all the love and support :-)

- Smart move on Alison Iraheta’s part to latch onto Adam Lambert’s tour, with Orianthi. Unfortunately, Adam is not coming to Atlanta on his first leg but I expect he’ll make it here at some point. No Atlanta dates yet for Kris Allen, either. Ditto with the Ruben/Clay tour. Where’s the ATL love?

Well, hello! Smart choice, Rodney. I did look for tickets during one of the pre-sales, but I didn’t find any to my liking. I will be overpaying for some decent seats…

As far as the ATL love, we’re not getting it from Idols. This stop for Carrie’s from the second leg, not to mention that Kelly has skipped us as well…even with Lilith. Which, I will be making a little road trip to Charlotte to see her there.

Admirable attempt at tabloid journalism, Rodney. Unfortunately, you failed in your foray into cheap shot reporting with your transparent attempt at a ratings grab dig at Crystal’s expense. Can you say “oops, backfired!”

All anyone has to do is read the actual quote from Crystal’s tweet to see the “too defensive” angle for the story was utterly unfounded and misleading. That was as sweet and kind of a message as I can imagine, and to knowingly bogus the story up in an apparent attempt at a ratings grab is a rather unflattering side to you…one I hadn’t seen before, and hope not to see again.

kcf and all, Carrie will be here in Columbia, SC on Saturday. She’s been sold out from day one. We also have Martina here on Sunday. Both are at our Colonial Life Arena.

Er, and I “forgot” to mention Taylor Swift will be here on Friday. Kinda hated to mention that one. But, Columbia has gotten the biggies lately.

Neg, overreact much? The prior tweet needs to also be taken into account. Rodney is addressing the pattern of tweets, not the one individual tweet.

The thing I would point out is that she is also addressing haters of her fellow contestants. By haters of course I mean those who hate Siobahn, because so far the only true fans seem to be either for Crystal or Sio. Telling if you ask me.

I’ll never complain about a Carrie Underwood headline complete with picture (even a processed one) thanks Rodney.

Good for Alison Iraheta, I like her music, hopefully she can get more airplay by latching onto Orianthi’s rising star.

Sorry JT, but I calls ‘em as I sees ‘em, and if straight talk ruffles a few feathers, well, good. It was supposed to. Tabloid reporting like that is beneath Rodney, and no amount of excuse making or truth twisting will change that fact.

I stand by my accusation 100%, and would like to ask Rodney to do the right thing and make a retraction.

From the quote “Hey now! There’s no room for hate on this page!” Yep I’d call that “wee bit too defensive” especially when it follows up on her calling out Ryan (who deserved it).

Retraction not needed.

I don’t see that Crystal is being defensive at all in the above posted tweet; unless one defines “defensive” as protecting herself and her other Idol buddies from negativity. Since we have to look at the word “defensive” and see it in a positive light rather than a negative light…I guess that she is being defensive. Maybe “protective” would have been a better word to use.

Sorry, JT, but thou doth protest too much.

Nothing “too defensive” is being said in the least. Crystal respectfully asking nasty people to be a less hateful towards not just herself but all the contestants, and no amount of apologizing for Rodney’s blunder on your part will change that fact.

Dear all, I would also say, Hey now. . . I hope there is no room for hate on these pages. As far as I can see, everyone, and especially Rodney, had no intent to hurt or marginalize anyone.

And don’t forget… out of your $35.50 – $55.50 (not including the excessive service fee) $0.36 cents goes towards ‘Idol Gives Back.’ That’s barely more than 1% of the ‘cheap’ seats. If the Gwinnett Arena has 10,000 seats available and sells them all, that’s $3,600.

That’s 360 mosquito nets.

Therefore she is defending herself and her fellow Idols. “Defensive” has a bad connotation and maybe Rodney meant it that way but I think she is being defensive of herself and her castmates.

Neg, thou doth protect your anointed one too much.

Considering that the standard is to not address this matter at all, and that we’ve not seen any other contestants feel the need to address issues related to the show and the fans it’s either the offensive, defensive, or protective.

Since she is addressing other hateful tweets, and in the prior tweet addressing a wrong done against her by Ryan then she is re-acting and therefore being defensive against the original offensive.

I know that it is getting late in the Idol season Negs, the time when you typically look for other forms of entertainment (lunch ladies, old ladies etc), but this one is kind of odd. Once again I will say that I think you’re over-reacting a bit much for such a small matter. Especially when the words were provided for all to interpret for themselves.

Here’s an interesting tidbit about Lee and Siobhan from an L.A. Times reporter at a recent rehearsal:

And then there’s Siobhan… Wearing the same sleeveless denim jacket she sported to the Top 12 party (with the rad Ramones patch on the bottom back), pink high-top sneakers and dark skinny jeans, Siobhan was the spitting image of adorableness, as usual, so you really can’t blame Lee DeWyze for cozying up to her in row 3. In my gossip magazine days, one might have been tempted to read into the head-leaning and gentle back-scratching (not to mention the ink still drying from their Friday night tattoo run), but I’ll leave that to you all.

And this about Casey:

The persistent sinus problem that’s been plaguing Casey for weeks is thankfully on its way out, and with hair pulled back in his bunny rabbit of a ponytail, Casey is finally coming around to his full vocal potential. You know what that means? Prepare to be wowed.

Deirdre, sorry, but I read those two snippets and they actually made me feel a bit ill. Maybe it’s just this season, but the whole Lee-Siobhan thing, then Casey… too much. I’m glad there wasn’t anything about Aaron and Mike, I probably would have lost my lunch. More singing less fluffing.

So, Lee’s banging Shovahn! NICE!!

Well done, Lee. I’d hit that, too, if I were you! Hopefully he’s working it right so she let’s go of that patented Shovahn Shriek…it’s better suited for the bedroom, anyway!

After listening to Whitney Huston croaking “And I Will Always Love You” in London, I wonder how Simon & Co, would have rated her performance, besides Randy’s obvious “Dude, that song is just way too big for you.”

See. That’s what a previous blogger mentioned. Crystal could never sell out Gwinnett Arena but Carrie can! I just don’t get all the Crystal love. She’s not that good. Only the best this year. I challenge any of you to visit your local high school and you will find a student better than Crystal, who reads music, writes music, plays an instrument, has way better vocals, and is way more marketable.

Remember her father last week? OMG!

Everyone stop hating on the haters. If a hater hates, then that can just be something that we hate quietly but don’t let that hatred eat us up inside, lest we get eaten up from the inside by the hate. And I would hate for that to happen.

Carrie is indeed one of a kind and she is still very sweet, down to earth yet mature and more confident and keeps getting better and better. She will be heading down to US next. I’m sure that Carrie Underwood Tickets will be a sell-out too! coz she has been a good ambassador of country music and remains true to herself.
