Ryan Seacrest stalker pleads not guilty

Credit: Rodney Ho/rho@ajc.com

The man accused of stalking Ryan Seacrest pleaded not guilty yesterday in court to felony stalking.

Chidi Uzomah Jr., who is 25 (but looks 40 in his ever attractive mug shot) has been ordered to stay at least 500 feet away from Seacrest for the next three years, according to the Los Angeles Superior Court.

Uzomah is a sergeant with the Army Reserves and part of the special forces.

Army spokesman Lt. Col. Nathan Banks told TMZ, “We apologize to Ryan Seacrest. Pending the outcome of the local investigation, the Army will decide what further action to take. We take all matters of our personnel seriously.”

This is the price of fame, unfortunately. We have no clue what his rationale for going after Seacrest is.

- I attended the taping of the Soul Train Awards last night at the Georgia World Congress Center. Fantasia was there to fete Chaka Khan, who received a lifetime achievement award. She did her usual vocal theatrics. I videotaped a few seconds of it and will post it tomorrow. I was too far away from the stage so I ended up taping the video screen near me.

- Remember Chris Richardson from the less-than-enthralling season six? Kind of? Sort of? Not really?

Well, he did an interview with Walmart to promote his upcoming album. Yes, it’s taken him two years to get one out. Here’s a photo of him from MJ. He may have been hanging at the Checkers drive through with Blake Lewis, eh?

Chris Richardson

-And MJ also has a hilarious photo of Kelly Clarkson from a Halloween concert dressed as Stewie from “Family Guy.” And you have to love Clarkson’s sense of humor. She sang a portion of Beyonce’s “Halo” at the end of “Already Gone.” Remember when Ryan Tedder gave both artists the same backing track?

I am seriously bummed she’s skipping Atlanta on this tour.

There’s a line in “Good bye Earl” (by the Dixie Chicks) that says “Earl broke through a restraining order and put her in intensive care.”

Too many times a restraining order only ticks the person off and they escalate.

I hope the military does something to him… but I don’t think civilian offenses are covered under the UCMJ.

Be VERY careful, Ryan. I hope E! or AI hires security/bodyguard for you.

Thank you Rodney, especially for not posting a picture of ugly man again.

I always though that Chris Richardson was Blake Lewis.

Chris Richardson….Justin Timberlake wannabe who sang through his nose and told Simon that was a “singing style”. Yeah…..I remember him.

Loved the Kelly Clarkson video.

The military may actually take more responsibility for the scary loon than the private sector would.

Hey y’all!

I remember Chris…he was such a JT ripoff. I mean, likeable guy, but he didn’t really bring much to the table.

Rodney, yay, for the Kelly humor. She also did the Peanut Butter Jelly Time Dance! Hilarious! This is why I adore her and going to see her show. You seriously never know what she’ll say or do. I don’t know the rationale for skipping Atlanta. You best believe that my butt’s going to Columbus for her show. (After Charlotte, that’s nothing.) I am slightly disturbed at her lack of love for the ATL. Hello, we are quite charming…and I so volunteer to be her tour guide if she nees one. ;)

Sign #6 that we are witnessing the decline of Western Civilization: a forgotten nobody from Idols past is promoting his album at Wal-Mart.

K&Cfan, I expect a full review (and hopefully pictures) from Kelly’s concert.

In the “JT ripoff” category… I nominate Matt “The Hat” Giraud from last year. Wasn’t worth the save.

Speaking of Blake Lewis, he has a new song out called Heartbreak on Vinyl with a video that is an homage to the teen angst movies of the ’80’s. I actually like this song a lot. Very retro but new all at the same time and catchy as hell!

If you think back to the Kelly audition footage Rodney posted in the not-too-distant past (her being a judge while Randy “auditioned”) you got a sense of Kelly’s sense of humor.

She’d be a great person to just hang out with – or be the designated driver for (a duty for which I’d volunteer.)

Good afternoon everyone. My sister had surgery today, so I just got to work and had time to catch up with the blog. D, thanks for the link to Blake’s song. I admit to being not such a fan, but I, too, really like his song. I love the line “people like us, who fell in love in analog and never let go!”

I did not watch V last night. I am almost afraid to take on another addiction right now. I have totally fallen for Flash Forward, as the latest one, and am a Glee fan, and this year I’ve become a devotee of SYTYCD. Last year, not so much. Anyway, let me know what you think about it.

D – i totally forgot about V and am hoping they either re-run the premier episode or that i can watch it online… don’t know where my brain was — oh wait, yes i do — I was watching SYTYCD and recording NCIS and NCISLA and something else — so i couldn’t watch or record anything else. grumble. WHY did they put it on Tuesday???? monday would have been MUCH better!

anyway, i’ll let you know if i get to watch it but by then you will have watched it also, so ….

ah nevermind…rambling rose here

P>S> what’s a good 40th Anniversary (Ruby) present for a guy that’s not too expensive???

JT, you shall definitely get a review. Just be warned, I’m definitely not a professional and can tend to ramble. I tend to fall into fangirl mode sometimes.

D, “catchy” that is definitely the word to describe Blake. I did like that song. I also really enjoyed “Left My Baby For You”. I did not watch V, I don’t know if I want to get into yet another show. I’m trying hard to only have around one “must” see hour of TV these days. Works well except for Thursdays with Grey’s and Vampire Diaries. (Hey, I fall under the 18-34 demo ;) )

Rickster, you’re so hired as DD. I’ll just settle for drinking buddy/partner in crime/body pillow/whatever’s asked.

We watch “Lie To Me” on Monday night (except this past one due to the World Series) and Flash Forward & Grey’s Anatomy on Thursday night. Extreme Makeover – Home Edition is our Sunday indulgence (don’t forget – Kellie Pickler alert this week.)

Other than that… we don’t watch that much TV in the evening. (Depending on how Ellen does as a 4th judge – that may remain our TV viewing schedule.)

A panda walks into a watering hole, grabs some peanuts off the bar, and chows down. Then he pulls out a gun, fires several shots into the air, and ambles back out.

The bartender is just awestruck, and says out loud, “What the heck was that all about?”

A patron sitting at a nearby table pulls out out his iPhone, looks up ‘Panda’ and says…

“It says right here that a panda eats, shoots and leaves.” :-)

I try to watch Bog Bang Theory on Mondays. Tuesday I’ve got nothing unless I really like V. Wednesday is Glee. Thursday I have a problem. Grey’s, The Office and Fringe are all on at the same time. I try to catch Fringe on line. Friday…nothing. Saturday…nothing. Sunday…Desperate Housewives.

Lost and Idol will be added to the list in January while I assume that Glee and V will disappear about that time.

I admit to being a Flash Forward addict already! And, thank you for asking, my sister is doing well. Talk about a horror story, though. As if the stress from impending surgery were not enough yesterday,as she prepared to leave work for four weeks, she got a call that her 92 year-old mother-in-law, who lives with her and her husband, had fallen and broken both her wrist and her shoulder. My sister called me on the way to the hospital, crying and stressed out completely. They kept the patient overnight, and my sister’s surgery was this morning at 7 AM. We went up to see the mother-in-law, only to be told SHE was on her way to surgery at the same time as my sister. My poor brother-in-law had both his wife and his mother in surgery at the same time! The waiting room volunteers were totally confused as to which family we were!

Today’s Quote: “Loving someone is about giving. not receiving.”

Harriett, hope your sister and her m-i-l continue to improve and soon will be well enough to go home.

Don’t watch much tv during the week, although I do have favorites such as DWTS, SYTYCD, Desperate Housewives, Sisters & Brothers, Army Wives, Glee and of course AI. Can’t get into “V” since I’m not much in SciFi. Grey & Private Practice I’ll watch. Don’t care for House or any of the CSI shows.

Good morning. Thanks, Nana. I believe my sister will be home before long, but will have about a three week recovery. The m-i-l (thanks, D, for shortening that) is another story and will have to go to a rehab place for several weeks to regain her strength. She’s a tough old gal at 92 and was laughing and joking with the hospital folks before her surgery. Thank goodness for a new day.

At home, waiting for the Sears repairman (month-old washing machine BROKE: took 1,5 hrs to set up appt) so I got to see Carrie Underwood chat and sing on “Regis”. She did well, showed brains and a sense of humor about the ugly dress (”I feel like I’m wearing wrapping paper”) a stylist must have picked out for her. Seemed comfortable about hockey-playing b-f gossip.

So, thanks to Highlander, I am listening to the new Carrie CD at work. It’s incredible. Wow, that girl can SING! I’m so impressed with this disc. Vocally, she shows lots of power and range. Lyrically, some really great stuff too. Honestly the best CD I’ve listened to in AGES. I think Cowboy Casanova is still my favorite song, but the one called Undo It is bound to be a HUGE hit for her too. Wow. (I like it, can you tell?)

wow, Rick, LOL…. thanks for thinking of me!!! Actually… either way? ANd me an English major. Sheesh. No, i guess my original intent was an inexpensive yet representative gift for hubby for our 40th anniversary. I started to say “my anniversary” but…somehow THAT makes no sense, right? I mean, i THINK he was with me all 40 years!

aneeeeeway…. the anniversary happens to be the same day as the Auburn at Georgia game, and since it’s in Athens and hubby works at a popular Bar in Athens … i don’t think i’ll see much of HIM. I was thinking maybe fixin’ a nice breakfast for him to come home to… but who knows. Of all the home games for GA that is the ONLY one that i would never ask him to take off work… he says the Auburn fans are the best behaved, the best tippers, the most fun of any rivals of UGa. So. Guess my anniversary is spent with a good book, LOL.

Hey y’all…

D, hope the dental procedure goes well.

Harriet, glad the patients are doing better. Here’s to a speedy recovery for both.

Mercedes, I’m looking forward to watching that tonight.

Heather, YES! I’m definitely loving Play On. I don’t know if I like it better than Carnival Ride, but I seem to not skip songs like I did with that one. Her vocals are spot on, and I’m finally feeling a connection to some of her lyrics. I hope she can perform the crap out of them live. Not the vocal piece, but the emotions attached. I wanna feel the music…like it happens so easy with Kelly. (Why she’s still my #1, btw)

Undo It has single written all over it. So does Songs Like This. I’m loving Quitter, This Time, Look at Me, and Unapologize. So, basically almost all of it.

K&C Fan, I truly love every single song. I’m on the third play-through this morning and still adore it. I think she’ll definitely bring the emotion when she performs them live, too. I just had a great idea that will protect Ryan and help end the war in Afghanistan.

Step 1: Show the Stalker a picture of Osama Bin Laden.
Step 2: Tell him that – as a precautionary measure – Ryan has had plastic surgery to look like the picture, and moved to a cave in either Afghanistan or Pakistan.
Step 3: Tell him the judge has rescinded the restraining order and he’s free to go find him!

Problems solved!

Rickster, yes, washer is under warranty. That’s why it took so long to make the appointment – Sears had to reroute it to someone else, who would hang up on me. My appt was between 8 and 12 this am. Ten to 12 I called to see where the repairman is – have other appt at 1:30. He called two minutes ago; he’s “on the way”.
