David Archuleta’s parents file for divorce, Adam Lambert going on Oprah, Hollywood Week taping pushed back

Radar reports that David Archuleta’s parents have filed for divoice.

Citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split, the couple will share joint physical custody of their three minor children (they have five children in all). Lupe will have one night less of custody than James Jeffrey per year.

James Jeffrey, who was known as overbearing during season seven, was arrested in January for soliciting a prostitute.

On a brighter note, Brian Mansfield of USA Today’s “Idol Chatter” interviewed David, who is promoting his Christmas album.

-Adam Lambert will show up on an “Oprah” episode at some point.

-The NY Post reported that “Idol” will indeed push Hollywood Week into January due to scheduling issues related to Simon Cowell. This will hold back spoiler attempts though in this age of Twitter, don’t underestimate Joe’s Place to suss them out anyway. The editors will have a tougher time, not knowing who will make the final 40 or so, shaping story lines for the audition episodes. We do wonder if knowing ahead of time who the final 40 are affects the editing of those audition episodes.

- Four “Idols” – Gina Glocksen, David Hernandez, Alexis Grace and Michael Sarver - are going on tour for the holiday season. I’m not sure how much of a draw those four are but they won’t be coming to Atlanta anyway.

That’s too bad for David’s younger siblings.

Hollywood week, that doesn’t strike me as being that big of a deal, unlike the 4 judge issue. They have never shown all the final 40 during auditions anyway.

Those four are Idols? Two didn’t even make the top 10!

Out of the four listed… the only one I’d be willing to go see would be Alexis Grace. She got shafted due to country week and a bad song selection. If ANY one deserved to have the save used on them… it was her.

Note to Mr. Archuletta: If you seek carnal relief outside the bonds of matrimony, don’t be surprised if you get screwed at home.

I do need to discuss one very important point that is brought about by the picture Rodney posted for this article: We have here on this page an example of how to look good in a hat (Rodney) and how to look really stupid in a hat (Jeff Archuleta)

Rodney: BTW the blog write up names him as James, it should be Jeff.

Archie’s dad would look stupid with or without the hat.

Rickster, you seem to be indicating that the problem with the marriage is due to Jeff Archuleta’s actions. His wifes refusal to be an 18 year old massage worker who hasn’t had 5 kids and is willing to have kinky sex for money is the reason for the problems. The man has needs and his wife did not step up to the plate!

JT, i think his name is James Jeffrey Archuletta — so instead of calling him “Jeff” they used the whole thingy. just a guess. but no matter how you speall it, imho it’s pronounced “jerk”.

I guess, Rick, i was getting a little blase’ about the comments here…but JT got me on that one.

Not really back, just sneaking a break, this has been AICH-EE-DOUBLE-HOCKEYSTICKS week here and i’m freaking exHAUSTed. strange as it may sound, i think i wouldn’t even appreciate D’s scrumptious weekend the way i feel right now … i just want to SLEEP! well, read, sleep, maybe eat, drink, watch some tv, but absolutely NOthing that requires any more energy than pushing a remote button!

Sorry you’ve had such a tough week Linny. Mine’s been pretty slammed, too. Unfortunately, I’ve got home improvement stuff that needs to be done, and boxes to go to the storage unit. Oh fun.

Ya’ll keep it nice on here over the week-end. I’m headed to LaGrange to visit my dad for the week-end. Be back here late Sunday or early Monday.

Everybody have a great week-end.

Bye everyone. Seems I have been really busy and not able to post. But, I love peeking in and commenting when I can. I think this thing with his parents may help Archie grow up a bit. Have a good and safe trip, Nana.

OK, this is not AI related but i HAVE to ask: regarding the following headline in the AJC — my question: “WHY?!?!?”

Headline: “Downtown Atlanta could get pirate museum”

Didn’t you know, Linny? Atlanta’s the booty capital of the world!

But you’ll have to be 17 or older to enter, ’cause the museum will be rated “arrrrrrrrrrrr”

Just picking at a couple of nits before I go.

Rodney, in your sentence about the Archulettas… you wrote that they are filing for “divoice.”

Linny, in your 1:58 post, you wrote “no matter how you ’speall’ it.”

And now, I’ll bug outta here before Linny throws something at my jester cap! :-)

Have a great weekend everybody. Stay warm.

And finally, with both Archie and Adam in the thread headline (threadhead?), I foresee the blog going to 3 or 4 pages this weekend.

I’ll fire the first volley: Did Archie turn out the way he did because of his dysfunctional parents or has Jeff Archuleta turned out the way he has due to the failed shot at fame and fortune by his stage-parent-prodded son?

There. That should do it!!

I have to disagree, I feel that it will be a quiet weekend. The Archie fan girls keep quiet when daddy Archie is making headlines. It’s only when they perceive (make up) some slight coming from Rodney that they launch into an offensive.

My sympathy to Archie & his siblings. That’s not easy for any kid, no matter their age.

JT, I hope you don’t mind the King of Snark title I pinned on you. It was meant as a compliment, as I am very amused by snarkiness.

flbravesgirl: I’ve been repeatedly playing The Police song “King of Pain” and inserting the word Snark for Pain. It’s my new theme song.

Justin, scroll back a bit, the video was posted and the hair color was discussed. The hair trumped the music.

Linny, “Downtown Atlanta Getting a Pirate Museum” is right up there with “Downtown Atlanta Getting Cumbersome Streetcars on Peachtree”. I wish the people we elect to run our city would do just that (decent public transportation system, anyone? Working water meters?) instead of inflicting lame-brained tourist traps on us poor taxpayers. I can see a Pirate Museum in Savannah, where they at least have an ocean AND barrier islands with rumours of buried treasure. Plus it would match the Pirate House eatery.

That might not be a bad show with Glockson and Grace in it. Alexis Grace was on one of the Idol shows on cable doing Ryan Seacrest’s old job of greeting/interviewing Idol auditioners. Is a million $$$ in her future, you think? I thought she was doing a better job than Seacrest.
