Carrie Underwood getting her own Christmas special
Jennifer Hudson - take that!
Earlier this month, Access Hollywood reported that ABC is planning a one-hour Christmas special this December starring Hudson. Curiously, ABC has not offered any details yet.
Fox this morning said it is now planning a TWO-hour Christmas special featuring Carrie Underwood. Nigel Lythgoe and Adam Shankman will executive produce. Here’s the press release:
Multi-platinum recording artist and Grammy Award winner Carrie Underwood will headline CARRIE UNDERWOOD: AN ALL-STAR HOLIDAY SPECIAL (working title), a two-hour variety special airing Monday, Dec. 7 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. Underwood will perform new music from her upcoming album as well as previous hits and holiday classics. She will be joined on stage by special musical guests and chart-topping artists including Dolly Parton, Brad Paisley and David Cook. Additional guest stars and performers to be announced.
And Kat McPhee fans! Here’s her new video for “Had It All.” Sorry–I’m not vibing on this blonde hair at all. This song isn’t all that but it’s better than her first single, the name of which I’ve already forgotten. Do you think top 40 radio will give it a try?

Kris looks good…way better than Archie on his Christmas cover. Notice that his wedding ring is prominently displayed.
Kat’s song is better than her first outing. I think she’s trying to develop an “edge” with the blond hair but…she’s just not an “edge” kinda girl.

I finally got a chance to watch the video, I can do without the slicked back hair, she looks decent except in those scenes. As for the song, meh. Overall it is just another mediocre offering from McPhee. Visually she doesn’t stand out from other videos, musically she doesn’t stand out. Granted I’m not an expert, but I doubt it will get much top 40 airplay.

I’ll definitely be looking for Carrie’s special. Not that JHud isn’t talented, but I think I’ll enjoy Carrie & her guests much more than anyone that would show up on JHud’s special.

K&Cfan, I have sources… I saw a still picture of it last week. I don’t know if she liked it, but I sure did. There was also something buzzing around about Natalie Portman, my brain turned to mush just thinking about that one so I’m not certain what it was all about. Sure it may not be real, and sure it will never involve me, but it’s all good.
Sorry, but I think the star of the photo is the look on his face that says “crud Adam’s album is about to launch and squash mine like a bug!”

I don’t like Kat’s hair color at all. IMO, she looks better as a brunette. I’ll check out the vid when I get home.

Good Morning Everybody.

Left home this morning around 4:15 and my commute went from 1 1/4 hours to over 2. Not a good start. I’m just to darn old to be commuting the distance that I do. But, my day will get better, I think. It has to according to JT’s post of 10/13 at 4:00. I will say that Jon Gosslin is a total jerk.
The new Bachelor was announced last night on DWTS, and I am sooooooo happy that it was the one I chose last season. JAKE (the pilot) is the one. HooWoo!!!!
Now, that makes me feel better. Okay, I’m back down to earth.

JT’s remark brings to mind my entry for “Joke of the Day”
Jon Gosselin is sitting at a bar. A guy walks up to the bartender, points at Gosselin and says, “I want to buy that douche bag a drink.”
Bartender says, “Sir, he’s a valued customer, and we’d appreciate it if you’d not refer to him in such a manner.”
Guys says, “But he’s a douche bag. But I still wanna buy him a drink.”
Bartender says, “Sir. I’m asking you to not refer to a customer in such a derogatory manner.”
Guy tells the bartender, “Tell him he’s a douche bag and ask him what he wants to drink and I’ll give you a big tip.”
Hoping the man will keep his word, the bartender goes down to Gosselin and says, “The guy at the end of the bar says you’re a douche wants to buy a drink. What’ll ya have?”
Gosselin looks at the bartender and says…….. “Vinegar & water.”

linny…you are probably right about the Gosselins. Viewers see it as exploitation of the kids for monetary gains. The Gosselins see it as helping them make ends meet. Somewhere along the way “making ends meet” became “getting rich” and the kids were left in the dust.
