Check out Alison Iraheta’s new single “Friday I’ll Be Over U” at popeater.com. It’s a little bit Avril Lavigne, a little bit Pink, definitely a rock edge. I think it fits Allison very well. What do you think? The lyrics are age appropriate.
It was produced by Max Martin, who helepd create “Since U Been Gone” by Kelly Clarkson and “So What” by Pink. He knows hooks! I expect top 40 radio will at least give it a chance.
-What’s $1.5 million when you’re Simon Cowell? He celebrated his birthday over the weekend and spent that much. If you want to read about it, check it out here. It might make you feel kind of nauseous. Guests include Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell, Gordon Ramsay, Andrew Lloyd-Weber, Olivia Newton-John, Terri Seymour, and Paul Potts. Elton John was invited but didn’t make it. Ryan Seacrest, Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson showed up, too.
-MJ is also speculating a possible Adam Lambert/ Lady GaGa combo tour. That would work fabulously if it happens. Adam could easily sell out the Tabernacle, I’d fathom, on his own.
-Carrie Underwood, co-hosting the CMAs, will perform, too. No surprise there.
-Blake Lewis fans! You can live chat with him tonight at 9 p.m. EST at www.blakelewisofficial.com.

I was curious, too, linny about the baited breath thing, so here is what I found, and who knew?
Bated and baited sound the same and we no longer use bated (let alone the verb to bate), outside this one set phrase, which has become an idiom. Confusion is almost inevitable. Bated here is a contraction of abated through loss of the unstressed first vowel (a process called aphesis); it means “reduced, lessened, lowered in force”. So bated breath refers to a state in which you almost stop breathing as a result of some strong emotion, such as terror or awe.

I’m looking forward to Nana’s news too… while enjoying Alison’s new single. I like it. Lambert/GaGa would be great.
I went back and read prior threads, thank you everyone. I really do appreciate it.
In a few weeks Rodney will have to honest about David Archuleta again so that I can join in with the 4 page fun. I loved how he created a perfect storm of Archie vs. Clay fans. Insert Rolling Stone Magazine joke here.

Okay, some of you can check your emails. And for those who have been waiting for me to make my announcement on Penny, here is a short version:
She has had to withdraw from sesaon 9 competition. The reason is that by the time she would have to be in Hollywood, she will be almost 6 months pregnant. But, she can try out again for season 10. We just want her to have a healthy baby, which is the most important thing.

Welcome back JT, we missed you alot. For your info, in case you don’t want to read all 4 pages, I have been pegged as most ever idiot in this world.
If I’m not mistaken, Penney’s pregnancy was a big surprise, I think she was told that she couldn’t have children. Correct me if I’m wrong Nana.

JT! Good to see you back…hope you’re doing well.
Nana, that is great news…congrats on living up to your name!
Will definitely be rooting for “Penny” to try out again.
Lady GAGa…oy. I like some of her music, but for some reason, I can’t stand her! Does that make sense? Either way, I probably wouldn’t be going anyway. But it would be good exposure for Adam, I suppose.

K&C, that makes perfect sense to me, I like alot of different music, but can’t stand the artist behind it.

JT, welcome back…you were missed…especially with the Archie/Clay crowd saying things that just begged for your special attention.

Harm, you are correct. She had been told by several OB/GYNs that she would not be able to conceive, but the good Lord above dealt her a winning hand. We only hope and pray that all goes well with her.

So, while I’m sure that the page view/comments were awesome for Rodney…am I the only one who like it better when the blog is “our little secret”? Not that I don’t appreciate genuine, intelligent arguments about Idol. But geez, you’d think Archie could walk on water or something….

Thanks for all the congrats on the upcoming new arrival. Her due date is on her late grandfather’s birthday, so we are hoping the arrival is that date.
Almost time for me to head home, so I will say my standard evening goodbye. Keep a song in your heart, a smile on your face and a tap in your toes. Please be special careful when on the roads and highways since they are wet.
Catch everyone later………………..

Welcome back, JT. Hope you’re doing well.
Harm and K&C, I’m with ya. Although I like a couple of Lady GaGA’s songs, there’s also something that just seems … I guess manufactured would be the word. Like some music exec decided to create a club/dance hit female artist. Her songs all have pretty much the same beat with a catchy hook added, then repeated (sometimes ad nauseum).

An example of someone that I can’t stand is LeAnn Rimes, but I like most of her songs.

WOW! Nana, that is some news! Although, I have to say, if she was the first pregnant top 20, 24 or 10 (whichever) contestant, that would make for some awesome TV!!! I am so happy for you and your family!!
Lady GaGa is definately a different one, but my friend plays guitar in her band and has told me that she is one of the nicest people he has played with.

What wonderful news, Nana! Surely “Penny” would get a special pass for season 10? Btw, are you now allowed to use her real name? I have thoroughly enjoyed the Swedish Idol during my stay; not only is the show using the three-judge format, the judges make succinct and knowledgeable comments and never bicker. Amazing, especially when you consider that two of them used to be married to each other.

Nana, congratulations and best wishes to your “Penny” for the wonderful news about her pregnancy.
To Deirdre, Harm, & Highlander— I kept checking in on the blog this weekend and was amazed to see 4 pages of comments. You all know there was a “full moon” this weekend.
I think an Adam & Lady GaGa combo tour would be great. Adam had stated in an earlier interview before the Idol tour that he would love to work with Lady GaGa.
JT, we missed your comments over this weekend.

Enter your comments here. (Just left that there this morning for a laugh. (I promise that I do know how to delete that, Highlander!) Nana, I’m so glad that Penny/Karla is pregnant, and so sorry that she had to drop out of the show. I guess sometimes you have to trade one dream for another, even if only temporarily.
I, too, am thrilled to see a new thread that is so far Archie-less. His father sure seems to have a lot of time on his hands to post all of those things under all of those different names!
Welcome back, JT. You were missed.

Elaine, LOL! Full moons and Archie fans are not a good combination.
I agree, Rodney. Allison’s song seems to suit her. Although it’s a little too “pop princess” for my taste.

Just want to add my congrats, Nana for the impending bundle of joy. JT, my condolences.
Been swamped at work lately. Haven’t been able to check in much.
If I tried, I probably could care less about an Adam/Lady Gaga tour. But it’s too early in the day, I’m dragging, and they’re just not worth the effort.
Have a great day folks. Back to the salt mines.

Good morning! D, I agree with you on Allison’s song being “pop princess,” but really, that is what is selling right now. I personally like her with a bit more of a rough edge, but the song may catch on for her, and that’s a good thing. Adam/Lady GaGa? It works for me.
